Overrated, Overpriced and a SCAM My husband wanted steaks after eating pinoy food for two weeks. Since I don't eat steak I reluctanly followed him and hoped they had some good salads on the menu.
Steer clear from this place as it is overrated, overpriced and they leave you with the feeling of being scammed. The personell and waiters seem attentive at first, but it is just for show and they will soon ignore you. We got pressured into having a combined shrimp and lobster appetizer that wasn't even on the menu. The waiter said he would "fix" it special for us, but what he did not say that this so called special dish has a "market price" which is just a scam for them to charge you whatever price they feel fit. We had to pay 4200 pesos for a tasteless 4 piece shrimp and a half lobster for sharing!
For the main course my husband had the smallest steak (more than enough for one) with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Nothing great he said and the meat was way too salty as well. My salad was nothing like the menu that promised different kinds of lettuce, vegetables and feta cheese. There was only the cheapest kind of lettuce and no feta cheese. It was tasteless and boring with too much tomato and onion. I even had the add on with shrimp, but the salad was still simple, tastless and boring. Way too pricey and not worth it. The total price for a bland, tasteless experience came to over 10 000 pesos for 2 people. You can eat really good food and drinks 5-6 times at Italianni's (across the floor) for the same price. They didn't even bother to pour our glasses with drinks or ask us if we needed more.
Just a pricey, horrible food experience and since this is a franchise I will surely send a complaint further...
Read moreWent to Wolfgang in Newport Mall with my grand daughters on 8/18/2022 , for them to experience the good quality of steak base on American standard where Wolfgang started in NYC.We ordered Porter house for 3,Petit Fillet mignon and side dishes, lobster mac and cheese, creamed spinach, crab cake, mash potato & steam broccoli. When the food arrived, the thing i noticed is the porterhouse for 3, the size of the filet in the steak fis so small it’s almost T-Bone cut, compared to previous 4 or 5 times I ordered the same cut and also compared to Porter house I used to order in Wolfgang NYC or Peter Luger where Mr Wolfgang started his steak trade. I called the attention of the manager to tell him my observations, he tried to explain to me the type of porter house cut, when i told him that i use to eat at Wolfgang NY and Peter Luger, he said that he will talk to the cook and do something about it. They removed the steak and came back after 5 or 7, the steak is the same one that they removed, they only re-arrange to look bigger. I didn’t ask question anymore that moment so as not to spoil the dinner with my wife and grand daughters. It look like Wolfgang Steak house is changing their standard, so if you are planning to eat a steak at Wolfgang ask the waiter if you can see the meat they will cook for you, just like in NYC they show you the item especially if it is your first time in that place. For me? as of now, i have to explore again another steak house that...
Read moreHaving not succeeded to get a Filet Mingon at Wolfgang Puk @ BGC because amazingly they didn't have any, I thought I should try again at Wolfgang Puk @ Newport.
The dinner didn't start well with the reception wanting contact details before they bring you to the table. Feels like marketing will be coming our way.
At the table, on agreeing to get sparkling water they bring our large individual bottles, rather than 1 which would and did suffice. Feels like they are pumping us for money.
My wife really wanted lamb chops, but they only offer 800g serving which she could not eat and even when asked, declined to make a smaller portion. Again, focused on pumping us for money.
On ordering main meal and sides only they pushed hard for an entre as 'it will be at least 20 minutes' Again, focused on pumping us for money.
Whilst waiting they did offer more bread which I declined, so they took away the bread plates and the remaining bread in the basket. Why?
On looking around I saw two LED screens projecting the basketball - is this a sports bar?
Finally, it took ages for them to come over and process the bill.
Oh, the food was excellent but the service made us, I imagine, feel uncomfortably like ATMs being robbed (if they...
