Mushroom Soup- 6/10 Normal tasting mushroom soup that is often served in restos. Serving is a little big for my appetite. Kt was said to be good for 1, but I think 2 people can split this.
Chicken Tenders w/ Potato Chips- 8/10- Loved how thin and well seasoned the chicken tenders are. More potato chips than tenders. Serving: 2-3 ppl.
Pulpo Gambas- 10/10- A family favorite for the night! Pulpo was the melt on your mouth type of tender. Not oily despite having olive oil with garlic as a sauce. A very light appetizer, would definitely recommend! Serving: 2-3 ppl.
Mykonos Salad- 6.5/10- We usually have this at home so it was kinda meh. Nothing too spectacular about it. We also thought it would with leafy greens (maybe we overlooked the description). A let down since I thought it would have more feta cheese. Still healthy! Serving: 2-4 ppl.
Lobster Gambas- 8.5/10- BIG lobster chunks. Tender and seasoned really well. Like the pulpo, light appetizer as well. Serving: 2-3 ppl
Tomahawk w/ Mashed Potato- 8/10- Veggies were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Mashed potato had a little chunkiness but lacks a bit of seasoning. But the medium well (family preference) tomahawk was probably a top 5 steak for me. It was juicy, little fat, season really well. Would recommend if you are a meat lover. Serving: 2-4 ppl
Foie Gras w/ Poached Peach- 7/10- Foie Gras is just as is but the poached peach won me over! Great balance of both. Serving: 2-3 ppl
Tiramisu- 7/10- Really light dessert, perfect after being super full already. Whip cream was just more than I liked. Serving could also be a bit bigger. Serving: 2 ppl
Price wise, this was a splurge. Mushroom Soup and Tiramisu are a but overpriced. But the rest were average for the type of resto it is. They also have a tasting menu.
Overall, I would go back here again. Staff was friendly and attentive. Nice ambience at night. They have so many offerings that my family and I still want to try.
04/18/2024 Update went for lunch- Pulpo Gambas and Tomahawk are still so good. The Tsukiji Salmon and Blue Marlin are a must try for the fish!
Drinks wise, coco choco chai latte and the strawberry banana are...
Read moreMy family and I recently visited Xi by Café Guilt for lunch, and our experience was a mix of highs and lows. The restaurant boasts a great ambiance that sets the stage for a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere was inviting. One standout aspect of our visit was the exceptionally accommodating staff. Despite the rainy weather, they went above and beyond by opening our car door and offering an umbrella upon our arrival. This level of service certainly left a positive impression.
However, while the service and ambiance were commendable, we found the food fell short of our expectations. Some dishes did not quite meet the standards we anticipated, and unfortunately, we felt that the overall quality did not justify the prices on the menu. We believe there is room for improvement in the culinary offerings to match the high standards set by the restaurant's ambiance and service. With some adjustments to the menu, we believe this establishment has the potential to offer a truly exceptional dining experience. In conclusion, Xi by Café Guilt has its merits, but the inconsistency in food quality and pricing should be addressed to ensure a more cohesive and satisfying experience for all patrons.
Below are my ratings for the food we ordered.
Pulpo Frito – 4/5 Black Garlic Salad – 5/5 I really love this salad! Nachos – 5/5 Superb! Pasta Negra 2/5 – lacking in flavor. I’m expecting a squid ink pasta. Chicken Ala Parmigiana 4/5 Alfredo Pasta – 3/5 Vongole – 4/5 Takoyaki Pizza – 1/5 – does not taste like Takoyaki The Big Boss Pizza – 4/5 B&B (Bagnet and Bringhe) - 3/5 Mediterranean Chicken – 2/5 - Chicken is quite dry. Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at XI by Cafe Guilt, and I must say it was an exquisite experience. We indulged in a trio of dishes, each leaving a lasting impression.
The Cajun seafood was a perfect blend of spices danced on my taste buds with every bite. The seafood was impeccably cooked, tender, and juicy, retaining its natural flavors. This dish was a spicy (mild) symphony that left me craving for more.
The alfredo pasta with chicken was a creamy dream come true. The sauce was rich, velvety, and oh-so-indulgent. The chicken was tender and seasoned to perfection.
The Bagnet & Bringhe combination was a delight. The crispy and succulent bagnet paired exquisitely with the fragrant and flavorful bringhe.
Points taken off for the Teatox Ginger-Lemon tea combination as the lemon was overpowering to my liking but was probably good for my stomach for the amount of food I consumed!
The ambiance at XI by Cafe Guilt was equally delightful, creating the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. The service was attentive, ensuring that our every need was met.
In conclusion, XI by Cafe Guilt exceeded my expectations in every way. If you're looking for a place to indulge in a gastronomic adventure, I wholeheartedly recommend XI by Cafe Guilt. It's a culinary gem that should...
