4th time here... Food was great, service was terrible.
We went on a saturday evening. Obviously it was busy but the number of staff I saw was inumerable and could cater every table based on my experience as a waiter. Atmosphere was so-so, the floor was too slippery which I think made the other waiters slip while carrying something because I heard plates falling thrice. Food was remarkable.
The receptionist was utterly impertinent saying that there is a list and she does not know when we could be seated. Then we ask if it's possible to have our names written out while we roam BGC she said it's ok, we just need to leave a message and they will let us know, which we did. She never mentioned that if our name was called and we were not there, we need to rewrite our names at the bottom of the list which was crazy because why would we line and wait outside if there was a list in the first place, but it might be just me and my standards on other food places.
To be exact we arrived at 7:30 pm went out then came back at 9:30 pm because if you saw the list you would expect the place to be packed for a couple hours, the receptionist showed us 2 pages of paper which tells how many people were ahead of us, again who would not think we could be seated within the next 2 hours with that number of groups ahead of us.
We agreed because we know that the food is good and had our name written out again and waited. They gave us a table by 11:00pm. My appetite was gone and had no energy to eat anymore but to who ever prepared the side dishes specially the fish cakes and the moksal it was great and my friend loved the chicken and the steamed egg. However my friend took 3-5 calls to different waiters to ask for another plate of moksal and to change the burnt grill.
There were no service charge so I think it's fair but still the staff works in hospitality the least they could do is be accomodating because it is their job. 😀 Will be back and hopefully by then the staff would make us feel that asking for something is...
Read moreWe usually eat at the BGC stopover branch, but decided to try the BGC branch near Mitsukoshi bcs lf the vlog that we watched.
We went during a non-peaked hour/ day. Which was Monday at around 3:00 pm. There was a bit of a queue, and it took them so long to set the table up. 2 groups ahead of us, but took 20-30 minutes to get us seated. It is also notable that there was a lot of vacant tables. As mentioned, we always eat sa BGC stopover branch, and kahit peak hours, we’re always seated within 5-10 mins even if there’s a queue. (Obviously not the type queue na there’s no more vacant tables)
We had to ask 3 times / different servers to get us a drink + pressing the buzzer button and receiving no assistance , the same goes with the table next to us. (They were seated aprox 15mins ahead of us). Comparing to stopover branch, when we’re seated, everything is already served. Just gotta have to wait for the charcoal.
Meats were okay, proportioned weirdly. I know I asked to remove certain meats, but didn’t expect the serving to be more on chicken. Nevertheless, the quality is the same from their BGC stopover branch.
griller. As per the picture, you can see that the griller is already burnt, i asked… 3 staffs.. they all just acknowledged it, and it took them awhile, and when placed the griller looked like it was freshly washed. Lack of staff? Lack of equipment? Again… sa stopover branch, we don’t even have to ask, we’ll just be surprised that they’ll change the griller out of nowhere? Which is a good service imo?
I’d like to mention that the staff are friendly and always puts on a smile, but I can’t help but notice that they’re not that enthusiastic about doing their job. Again, a lot of factors but this will all boil down to the management. Staff performance are based on how the management handles internal problems. So maybe check the...
Read morePremier Samgyupsal has always been my favorite spot for samgyupsal, and this was my first time visiting this particular branch. Unfortunately, my experience with the reservation process was a bit disappointing. I had made a reservation a day before our visit and called again an hour before our scheduled time to confirm. I even sent them a text to inform them that we would be running slightly late due to heavy traffic. We had reserved for 15 people at 7:00 pm. Two people from our group arrived right at 7:00 pm, and the rest of us arrived by 7:10 pm. However, when we arrived, the table that was supposed to be reserved for us had already been given to another group.
I approached Rose, the receptionist, who informed me that the table we had reserved was taken. To my frustration, it turned out that it was the manager of the branch who had decided to give away our reserved table. Despite having made the reservation well in advance, the manager did not even have the courtesy to apologize or address the situation, even though he saw me visibly upset as I spoke with his staff.
Fortunately, after about 20 minutes, a group finished dining, and Rose, Michael, and Jon-jon quickly stepped in to take care of us. I really appreciated their professionalism and attentiveness, which ultimately made the experience much more enjoyable. However, as for the so-called manager, I hope he takes this as an opportunity to learn and improve. It's the manager's responsibility to ensure that reservations are honored, and when mistakes happen, a simple apology goes a long way. The manager's lack of communication and regard for customer service left a negative impression. I hope future visits will be more seamless...
