Babette – pracownia zupy i chleba — Restaurant in Gdansk

It was a rainy day so we wanted something soothing like soup. We tried to go to place just down the street but there was a line out the door and across the street. It seemed that place didn't know how to properly seat people as there were three people a six person table and two people at a four person table. Both of which could have been separated and accommodated more guests. Oh well there loss and our gain.

So we walked back and immediately sat here. We ordered the cabbage and meat soup as well as the traditional sour soup. We also shared the tapas for two in which we ordered the egg, maple bacon, and cottage cheese. Everything was very good especially the traditional sour soup. I added a little crushed red pepper to the cabbage and meat which added a nice punch. The red pepper flakes in in a grinder is a fantastic touch. I've never seen that in any restaurant and I'll probably add that to my home kitchen.

Overall a very pleasant experience and I feel we ordered, ate, paid and were back in our room before some people were even seated at the place...

Typical place, that looks like eco/ bio/ vege/ trendy, with Instagram interior, serving average food for the high price. That’s it, I could finish my review here. I ordered krupnik soup which looked like and tasted like average krupnik from school canteen. Or typical milk bar. But the point is, in the canteen you can buy it for at least half price than here. I don’t get it, this place specializes in soups! Specialize! And you get average quality for a 19 zł. No meat inside, just a little bit of groats. Further more, the soup was warm, but not hot. From the other side, bread was very good, I cannot say bad word. It looks and tastes like homemade. To sum up, it’s eatable and you can sit in a nice looking interior. Maybe I wouldn’t say bad word if the price was not so high, but in that case it’s...

So hungry, we forgot to take photos... And absolutely no regrets! The food does justice to all the awards they've won. Every dish we ordered was delicious And the prices were the icing on the cake. And for those who stuff themselves here and want more, can buy stuff from their refrigerator. They also have a certificate of 'less waste' from foodsi..

So, a 6/5 rating for everything! Exactly the way a great eating...
