Bistro Bene by Tomasz Leśniak — Restaurant in Krakow

I took my friends for a birthday party for my birthday on September 3d. I booked a table like a month before that because I liked the service and the food. However, on September 3D my experience was absolutely spoilt. First of all, it was vivid I had a birthday, the waitresses could have at least smile and say happy birthday. Then I was waiting for guests and she only gave us main menues. Didn’t give us the wine list, I had to ask for it. Then they didn’t have Prosecco (‘ran out of it’). The food was not as good as what I tried at breakfast a month ago. The cheese plate has very big pieces of cheese and it’s just cheese and bread. The steak was not tasty. Kebabs were ok. But what was worse is there were a number of people waitresses and bar people and we had to wait all the time for them to pay attention. My pregnant friend had to go ask them if they forgot to bring some of the food. Because they did forget it. We ended up going for deserts at another place. And I regret those 10% left because we had 7 people. Maybe if we were polish the treatment would have been better. But my experience was ruined on my birthday.

P.S. i actually gave a second chance yesterday (7 months after). The bright side was that the waiter gave us a table outside. But same thing, 5 people in the waiters team, all not friendly and not smiling at all (there’s a reason why I was able book a table a day before)....

We came all the way from Łódź to try their breakfast which they didn’t serve us because we were a bit late, and then we ordered simple burgers which they forgot to put the orders in for because we were waiting for over half an hour. For burgers! People who came after us ate and left before we were served. When the burger did finally arrive it was soggy at the bottom, making it impossible to pick up, the middle was filled with raw vegetables which meant the patty just slipped off, and then meat was basically tasteless, only the bacon actually added some flavour. As for the fries, they came with sauce in a bottle far bigger than the smaller and medium fries. So either plan on skipping half your fries or pouring out the sauce like a barbarian. Thoroughly disappointing, and not what we were expecting after the hype and the positive reviews. If you visit then make sure you see the waiters put in the orders yourself or you might end up waiting endlessly like us. Make sure you come exactly on time otherwise you’re not getting breakfast. And of course avoid the burger insofar...

What a really nice place. And ok.. a little out of route.. but you really better of, compare to sit where all tourists are going. Must say. Don't suspect a real New York strip when they say steak New York dry age. It's a not that colourful type of steak. It was nice .. and at least a normal size. 200gr or more. I can't understand restaurants putting on their menu.. Steak.... and you get 100gr. Simply a joke .. but here just perfect done. 200+ not really red, but pink.. maybe this is the new red. 🤔 but. And mayor important. The wine.. wine in this area seems to be the new gold.. just in most restaurants very expensive. But here a serious nice wine from Africa. 16 euro per bottle. Only for this I would recommend to go here. And ok. Tge service is simply great.. really friendly. I would prefer to see a nice cheese plate on the menu. Which I would like as dessert. So.. overall I must say. One of the best places I have...
