We are so disappointed by the worst "welcoming" ever. The place is very nice, in a good location and from what we had reserched it has very good dishes, but what they have in look and feel they lack on customer service and respect. We made a reservation requesting that we would need help with an elderly person and that we wanted a bright place to be seated, to which they told us that they would reserve a good place for us without any problem. We arrived and they took us to our table and what would have been a good experience ended suddenly due to the terrible attitude of a guy who apparently was in a hurry. He simply took us to the darkest corner of the restaurant. We told him about our request when making the reservation to which he reply in a very agressive tone "that's what it is, are you staying or you go?" and he just left the place without waiting a response. I asked him to come back to let him know that he had been rude to us and that we just wanted what we asked for when we made the reservation. This guy yelled at us and wanted to justify his response with more yelling and more bad attitude. Apparently no one was in charge of the place because the other service people who were there didn't seem to care that someone was yelling at a customer. What a shame and I hope they think better about hiring people who don't work to serve other people. I wonder why to work in something that you don´t like and you...

Summary : excellent

We went to pod aniołami restaurant on our first day in Kraków. I read some reviews about it beforehand so I was excited but also more or less knew what could I expect. The thing is, the restaurant surpassed all my expectations. First of all, the atmosphere, garden and cellar are perfectly decorated, reflecting the historical uniqueness and ambiguity of the city. We couldn't help but wander around and take photos for quite some time. Then comes the food. All the dishes we tried were absolutely stunning. We had chicken shaslik, duck breast with cooked apple and cranberry sauce, oscypek cheese and pierogi with venison. The shaslik was seasoned and cooked nicely. The duck breast was quite juicy and flavorful. However, the stuffed cooked apple was wild with its sweet and sourness. Oscypek cheese is as always, great when grilled and best paired with cranberry jam. Last but not least, the pierogi with venison is something I did not see in Warsaw, the venison in it was also quite flavorful and seasoned nicely. Despite all the quality, prices are quite ok, nowhere near you'd call expensive for such a quality. Overall, we are very satisfied with our dinner and I recommend it to everyone who would like to experience a special occasion there. Cheers!

P. S. In addition, the staff were very helpful and attentive. We had several dietary restrictions and they were genuinely...

Wielkie - anielskie by rzec.... rozczarowanie.

Wnętrza niby te same, a bez życia. No chyba tylko to.

Maczanka anielska: no dobrze, były zachwyty u innych więc zobaczmy co można wyczarować z jelenia. Jestem w stanie w to uwierzyć.

Brak finezji i...

What a great find this is. Not a massive frontage, more a single doorway between two shops. Venture in past the barrel of apples and you will be greeted by a member of staff who will happily find a table for you, and if you're lucky, this will be the cellar. The whole place is a myriad of nooks and crannies. We were seated at a secluded cellar table with an historic figure in an alcove to watch over us as we ate. Traditional Polish food appears to be meat orientated which did not put us off. Incidentally they do have vegetarian dishes here. Eating traditionally I had the pickled herring to start which was not overpowering and not a bone in sight. As an optional extra, you can gave this with a vodka shot which of course I did. Herring is a fish of flavour and often bypassed because of the bones. We also had the beetroot soup and chicken broth with noodles. Mains generally came with vegetables with a Polish twist. Red cabbage with dried fruit or spinach and cream. Pork knuckle, duck, chicken and beef. It's all here. We were offered a mint infused vodka to finish which was a nice touch. The staff were great and able to help disect the menu for my son's dairy allergies. Booked twice here as I had fond memories from before. I urge any traveller to book a table here for a taste of Polish food - for those unsure, you will be pleasantly surprised.

A very solid 4.5! It’s rare to find fresh and traditional Polish food done so well in such a stunning location. It’s worth stopping by just to experience the interior — 13th century building while the restaurant has been operating since the 19th century. As for the food — go for the dishes that can’t be found anywhere else yet make a cannon of Polish cuisine. We tried ‘maczanka’ (so hard to find these days), pierogi with venison, chicken soup and duck carpaccio. All of those were truly amazing. Paired our Venison dishes with a glass of DELICIOUS primitivo. Loved the fact of getting some bread and butter and schmaltz to start with as well as kitchen-made mint liquor for digestion after the meal. Ended up grabbing a dessert — plums with crumble which could use some more advocat liquor, it melted into the crumble before It reached our table. I’d also recommend ‘grzaniec dworski’ — mulled wine mixed with other ingredients— I haven’t had such a good one in a while. Lovely service although needs to learn a bit about the history of the location since we were curious about it :)
