Absolutely OUTSTANDING in every way, and the best and classiest experience we’ve ever had in Kraków - this is from the point of view of Aussies who spend lots of time in Paris St-Germain-des-Prés and Four Seasons Hotels worldwide.
Simon is a wonderful host, and has established a truly stylish, international wine room just off the main square.
Beautiful jazz music - at the perfect volume - greeted us the minute we walked in.
I chose a Chablis that stood up against some of the best basic Chablis wines I’d tried in brasseries in Paris’ 6th arrondissement. It was so good we ordered a second bottle. The price was also surprisingly reasonable and much cheaper than the other terrible wines we had tried around the main square.
We ordered from the snacks menu and were also stunned by the quality of each and every ingredient. The bread was warm and so delicious paired with the Tuscan olive oil, and the charcuterie board had some of the best selection of meats I had ever tried. The quality of the olive oil, olives and meats reflect the years Simon spent in Northern Italy, and are sourced directly by him.
If you only have time for just one drink, I highly recommend this place for excellence in all round quality. I am definitely coming back every time I...
Read moreA glass of Barolo here costs 25 euro. For that amount, you'd expect a pleasant "ritual" with smelling the cork, a sip for tasting, and a glass being poured in front of you. Here, you will get none of that. The waitress announced that the bottle was brand new, took it in the back of the store, and five minutes later brought a glass out with barely 100 ml. The only thing that was "pronounced" about this extortionately expensive wine was the headache that came from the first sip. The wine had no time to air. And apparently it was poured using an "innovative needle technology" -- when the cork does not come out of the bottle -- which required the new bottle to be turned upside down during pouring, and all the sedimentation ended up in the glass. Overall, an overpriced and subpar experience. Besides I was never sure if it was actually the wine I ordered or the one poured from a different bottle...
Read moreOne of the places you don’t expect much from but they turn out to be surprisingly good. I love the service here because the waitresses took care of us really well making sure we are comfortable and happy with our time there. They have excessive knowledge of wines and will be happy to help with choosing. The atmosphere is very warm, cozy and chilled so it’s a perfect place to have a glass of wine after a...
