I’m Czech and often travel around Europe for work, so I always look for places that serve hearty, home-style meals — something that brings back the taste of traditional Czech cooking. When I found this restaurant in Poznań, I was really looking forward to it.
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. While the portions were large, the food lacked any real flavor or authenticity. Even worse, the food was served cold, which made the experience even more unpleasant. The dumplings, in particular, were far too big and completely tasteless — nothing like what you’d find in a proper Czech kitchen.
It quickly became clear that the chef isn’t Czech, and while I respect diversity in the kitchen, in this case it really affected the outcome. The dishes looked vaguely Central European, but the taste simply wasn’t there. It felt like a superficial copy rather than a meal made with an understanding of the cuisine.

Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at Drevny Cocur last weekend, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we walked in, the service was top-notch, and I especially want to highlight Darian. His kindness, knowledge of the menu, and attention to detail made our evening truly special.
Darian ensured that every dish we tried was perfect for our tastes, recommending excellent options based on our preferences. His positive energy and genuine care for making sure everything was just right made us feel incredibly welcome.
The food was, of course, delicious, with authentic flavors and beautifully presented dishes. But what really stood out was Darian’s exceptional service, which elevated the entire experience to another level. Drevny Cocur has easily become one of my favorite spots, largely thanks to Darian’s amazing work. I’ll definitely...
Read moreIt's good place to eat. Do not expect everything exactly like in Czech but it's close enough and tastes good, actually deep fried Gouda is much better than what you can get nowadays in Czech. Steak tartar could come with real "topinka" (deep fried bread) and lots of garlic, and it would be top class dish. We came back many times over 3 days and tried few dishes. I loved the retro Czech music they play inside, and mainly nice and patient staff. All girls who served us were very professional, let me mention Marita and Alicia, I'll ask for more names when we are back. It was great, thanks so much guys ❤️ P. S....
