Good service, Michal was really friendly and patient. All of the staff I spoke to could speak English.
Food was just okay, nothing that blew me away but also nothing that was bad. I tried all of the meat pierogis and some vegetarian ones; the chicken ones were a little bland compared to the seafood, pork and beef ones. The baked ones look pretty different to the photos in the menu, with significantly less filling than advertised. The apricot and peach ice tea was not nice, and made me wish that I had just ordered water instead, but the honey beer was tasty.
Restaurant looks pretty cute inside, however the seating by the bar close to the entrance was pretty tight and not too comfortable. I had to climb in and out of my chair as the tables are very close to each other. The large lamps were hung in an inconvenient position, which made it difficult to see the person across from you. It would be nice if it could be hung higher.
The cute honeycomb station by the entrance was a nice touch. Customers can use a wooden stick to sample some honey or honeycomb.
Most, if not all, of the guests I saw/heard were non-Polish-speaking. It is definitely popular among tourists. It also seems to be pretty family-friendly.
All in all, I would probably not recommend going out of your way to visit this restaurant if you are a foodie. It was an okay experience with its main selling points being its good location, cute interiors, good service, and the ability to mix ‘n’...
Read moreI visited Stary Mlyn pierogarnia in Poznan and I had a mixed feelings about this place. The service was polite and friendly but very slow (I think they were understaffed that day). At the begging you meant to get free appetizer which I think is a really nice gesture but they forgot about mine. (They stil brought it after my food was ready.) They had big choice of different flavours pierogi, also vegetarian and vegan, as well as salads and other Polish dishes. I ordered pierogi z pieca because I never had them before. I had Jesienne, Iznowe and Pastusze. Pastusze with smoked cheese were amazing! I didn't really enjoy others very much. After, I ordered one sweet one as a dessert with peanut butter and it was also delicious. I had cinnamon tea to drink which didn't really taste like tea more just like water with cinnamon and sugar. I mentioned that to a waiter and he said that teabag should have probably been kept longer. Well if you didn't make my tea right then you shouldn't have charge me for it... Also it was really nice of one of the staff members who tried to get a taxi for me because I was rushing...
Read moreIt’s a nice place, located in a tourist area in the center. Accordingly the prices are relatively a little higher. But I must say that the portions are generous. I’ve been there with a vegan friend. Unfortunately she had absolutely nothing to eat. It’s a shame that a place in such a central location doesn’t offer a vegan alternative. The pierogie were fine. The baked ones are definitely better. The recommended pierogie with a duck-apple filling were dry and tasteless. The Kwas drink was delicious. I’d give the place 3 stars, but I give 4 for the excellent service. Our waiter was very patient and very honest about the “vegan” dishes. The ones that are “vegan” on the menu, but in fact contain butter 🤦🏽♀️ TNX a lot! Besides, the place is friendly to Russian and English speakers. The atmosphere is nice and the design is very “touristy”, but that’s fine. For me...
