Repeating what many have already said in other reviews: perfectly simple, airy, clean and comfortable dining space with really endearing hosts. Fine value for the money. Fairly typical menu-board offerings but the food was prepared (charred) nicely (for my taste) and the seasoning was nice.
Be careful if you don’t want the full assortment of bread-olives-cheese-coxinha as the server will bring them all out and set them on the table. If you don’t want any or all just tell him. No problem. The olives and bread were nice.
Dessert was offered on a display plate which the host brought to the table. Good fresh fruit or nata flan custards. Nice touch to offer cinnamon “on the side” for the flan. Only wish they offered a .375 of wine rather than a cup or 0.5L… or a whole bottle. A size between a cup and the .5L would have suited me better.

Read moreMy wife and I were in Coimbra on a recent trip from Lisbon to Porto. We stopped for about 23 hours in Coimbra. On the second day in Coimbra for lunch, we ate at Churraqueira Mondego. This was just before we went to the train station to catch the northbound train to Porto.
We ate some potatoes with grilled fish (I believe it was dourada). In any case, the place was quiet but good. The food was good. The service was prompt and very good. The quality of the food was very good.
