No more hot water for you! - This seemed like a nice place, and the waiter was friendly. But we had a strange incident with the tea.
My friend loves tea. She ordered mint tea and likes to have more hot water later on to have more cups. The mint can make multiple cups of tea. We were only asking for hot water. The first time we asked the waiter seemed a bit surprised but brought us a very small metal container of hot water (a container that usually carries a dash of milk i.e. small). The second time we asked for hot water told us: "Sorry I can't." He then said that he had been told by another member of staff that if we wanted more hot water we would have to buy another tea. He seemed to imply that our request for more hot water was unreasonable.
This seemed odd. We have had no trouble in other places getting more hot water - it can't cost much to heat a small thing of water up. In another restaurant in Luz - Fortaleza Da Luz - we could have as much hot water as we wanted. Fortaleza Da Luz is a good quality restaurant, and none of the staff thought that asking for more hot water was odd.
After this incident, we felt a bit flat at "made in Italy" and just paid up (no tip) and left. If the waiter/kitchen staff had been nice, we would have left a tip - they lost out. Restaurants are really about hospitality and being nice to people. If they are not accommodating and nice, you don't feel like staying. A good restaurant will accommodate reasonable requests. Just asking for some hot water was reasonable, in my view. What is the point of ordering another tea if the existing mint leaves can make more tea?
This was a shame as this otherwise seemed like a nice restaurant, and it was close to where we lived. But we decided not to go back during our stay. We paid around €35 for the meal, so just having an extra bit of hot water shouldn't have...
Read moreWe had such a wonderful dining experience today — this spot is a true hidden gem in Lagos. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere made us feel right at home.
I ordered the spaghetti with clams, and it was honestly one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had in Portugal. The spaghetti was perfectly al dente, and the clams were fresh and flavorful. What really made the dish stand out was the subtle touch of pesto and a few pieces of sun-dried tomato that added a rich, savory depth without overpowering the delicate seafood. It was beautifully balanced and clearly made with care.
The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a cozy, relaxed vibe that made it easy to settle in and enjoy the meal. Daniele, the owner, was incredibly welcoming — you can tell he genuinely loves what he does. His hospitality added so much to the overall experience.
If you’re in Lagos and craving a meal that feels both comforting and elevated, this place is a must. We’ll...
Read moreworst dining experience ive ever had, seemed to have some tension between staff as our waitress never checked in with us whatsoever and they did not communicate with each other and were running around. we were waiting for our food for over 2 hours while the 2 tables next to us were given food and wrapped up before we were even served our main courses (same dishes mind you) plus, there was a next door loud repeating door alarm going off for 20+ minutes for which they did not even pay attention to , or talk to us about the food was just average, the seafood not tasty or fresh at all, shrimp tasted extremely fishy, with only the pesto gnocci being the sole reason for the extra star as it was fresh (but portion was much smaller that other pictured reviews) not sure if this was just an extremely poor night on the staff's end, but it was overall the worst dining experience ive ever had with a complete unawareness of the paying customers....
