Terrible and arrogant service
This restaurant has two outside areas, on the street, and an open veranda. We booked a table for 9pm and were looking forward to a meal.
When we arrived we went to the doorway to let them know we had a reservation. We were ignored 3 or 4 times by the waiter who pushed past us as he busied himself. We started to get a little impatient and as he pushed passed us again I had to loudly say "we have a reservation", at which point he seemed irritated but asked my name and went to look at the list. We were then shown to a table inside in a corner, a table that you would expect to be left for walk-in, not as priority for a reservation. We asked about an outside table but were abruptly told that it was full.
It was a bad start but we didn't want it to ruin the evening.
We started looking at the menu and saw that it said to ask about the specials. We wanted to share a fish so tried to get the attention of another waiter, I raised my hand as he came towards the table, he saw me, ignored us and went to clear a plate from the table next to us.
At this point after having two waiters ignore us we decided that this wasn't somewhere that we wanted to be customers. We left the restaurant, we saw the original waiter as we walked out and he smirked at us. We were so glad we didn't eat there.
We went down the road to another restaurant, we were able to have a table outside and had a great fish.
We visited on Saturday 25th...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences at a restaurant during my stay here in Lagos. Based off reviews my excitement couldn’t have been higher to dine here. Upon entering, the staff seemed immediately disappointed that more patrons were interested in eating at the restaurant, as well as the inability to give our group of 5 the correct drinks. When it comes to the food — where do I begin — an absolute disaster of one of the most expensive dishes on the menu. My girlfriend and I split the tomahawk steak (medium rare) only to have the worst cooked steak I have EVER seen in my life. Whichever chef pulled this old piece of meat out of its 5 year freezer slumber, decided to attempt to sear the outside of the steak, leaving the inside not only raw, but still frozen. As any sane human would do, I sent the dish back asking politely to have the steak cooked medium rare. Not 3 minutes later, my plate returns with the steak, but this time sliced and butchered into a hundred slices. After cutting into one of the slices, the steak was STILL frozen almost wall to wall. It took about an hour after the rest of our dinner party had already been served and eaten before an edible dish was served to me. Avoid this place at all costs, a truly pathetic excuse for a restaurant. Spend your money elsewhere, like on fast food, or a kebab, at least you know what you’re...
Read moreFell into this place after walking post and seeing the soft lighting inside. It was a lovely dining experience. Comfortable chairs, plenty of space, low lighting and gentle music. The service was highly professional without being stuffy. The menu is brilliant - we wanted to try everything. We settled on the Chateaubriand which was only E35 for two. It was perfectly cooked, the Bearnaise sauce was divine and the sides excellent. The waiter selected a wine for us which we also loved. We have visited other fancy dining places in Lagos but we loved this for it's relaxing vibe and great value for money. We will be back before we leave Lagos. Note that the frontage looks a bit basic and uninviting from the outside but don't be put off -...
