Why is this place empty?! We stopped by tonight to try La Putanna and were very pleased. This was our last night in Lisbon and we couldn’t have been treated better. Melanie greeted us at the door and was very friendly and courteous showing us to a table where we ordered our two pizzas to go. The pizzas are traditional Neapolitan style. We tried the Prosciutto e funghi & the Contadina. Both pizzas were ready to go in no time at all. It was just enough for our family of four. As we got the pizzas for takeaway, as Melanie told us, the pizzas lost some crispness but that didn’t take away from the great flavors. The Contadina is a great blend of veggies then covered with a heaping amount of rocket/arugula after coming out of the oven. It looks a little untypical but you should buckle up for a taste adventure. The dough/crust was a great base and even my kids who never finish crust didn’t leave and this day. Melanie is practicing her English and did a great job with us. I’m told Nathalia is the manager. All she needs help with is getting more people to visit this Lisbon gem. The small location seats maybe 40-50 family style with seating at long tables much like the nearby and always busy...
Read moreFood and drinks where good but we were not satisfied with the service …Everyone was friendly expect one waitress (black woman with braids), first of all she saw that we were ready to order but her and her colleagues were talking to each other and she was dancing behind the counter, when she came to take the order she acted as if she was annoyed and that she didn’t want to be there. When it was time to pay, my friend said “I would like to pay” and the waitress replied “I like that” with a smirk on her face and in a very condescending tone. When we paid she look at my friend up and down and started laughing, my friend got upset and told her to be more professional the waitress replied “I know” (or something along those lines. Her demeanor was very rude. I think she needs some training on how to...
Read moreGreat ambience, great service and nice vibe. The wood fired pizza dough was absolutely great. Thin enough for the ingredients, but yet a nice and and thick crust.
Unfortunately there was very little taste. We had the Geisha and the signature Puttana, both of which had loads of ingredients.
Even though they both had salty components such as pancetta and cheese, there was a major lack of salt. The moisture from the mushrooms and shitake was pooled up on the base.
But the most disappointing thing was the tomato sauce. It lacked a depth and umami that I'd usually want. This may be a taste preferen for me though.
It was a three star pizza mainly due to the price:taste ratio. I expect more from a 14 euro...
