EN- Today we have visited this cafe, where after 5 minutes on the table i took out my laptop in order to check my emails. Without losing a second, the waiter came to inform me that i couldn't use my laptop due to the fact the place was full. After i asked her why so, she explained that was the rules that the boss had imposed. The supposed rules where not anywhere written, neither were we informed before we enter the cafe. After a while, the boss came to the rescue and he tried to convince me that in a place full of people, i couldn't use my laptop to check my emails. I couldn't continue to live this paranoia, so we ended up the conversation there. I definetely dont recommend this place. In addition, the glass in which my coffee came was smelling bad. A bad smell of egg. I guess when they do the dishes they wash the glasses with the same sponge where previously have washed plates with omelete. Very bad experience overall.
Read moreMost complicated ‘tourist trap’ I’ve ever seen. Empty place but you could not sit people anywhere, as tables were for 4 or 6, or whatever. I emphasize: totally empty space, nobody to be seen anywhere, literally sending people away, almost myself. I asked for WiFi as I mentioned my need to work and asked for a cappuccino. Cappuccino came with the information they had a no laptop policy, to which I replied that when I asked for the password saying I needed it to work, what were they expecting to happen? And again I recall, this in early April, in a totally empty place. I understand no laptop policy during busy hours. No laptop charging (there are a lot), during summer, etc. This level of complication, I have to admit, it was a first. In my city. To the point of canceling the cappuccino, coming out of the door and writing this. Lisboa is a wonderful city, full of amazing places, coffees, brunch options, choices for all varieties of tastes and palates. So do yourselves a favor. Avoid this one. Service / ownership was just dreadful, rude, incomprehensible and with no agility whatsoever, all not plugging with the main features of the city they decided to establish themselves in. Pity. Could have been...
Read moreWhen walking down the streets of the beautiful bairro Alfalma, Break is the best and one-of-a-kind breakfast-, brunch- and lunchroom there is. The outside of the building is stunning, with Portuguese tiles on the wall. On the inside, the good taste continues, with vintage stairs and tables, cosy corners and cute prints on the walls. There are also seats in the windowsills, where you can look outside to the activity on the streets and experience Lisbon at its best. The menu is extensive (and certainly not expensive), with numerous options, both healthy and less healthy, for drinks, breakfast, brunch or lunch. The staff is super friendly and the service is fast. There are good and clean bathroom facilities. To conclude, you should really visit this cafe when strolling the streets of Alfalma! Break - away...
