Decided to come here as it was highly rated on Google and Trip Advisor, however I should have read the reviews and not only looked at the stars.

First off they decide to serve you food with no explanation at the start, without telling you that it is going to be charged to your bill (even the bread). I find this practice to be quite scummy and dishonest. We found out halfway through our meal that we could not use any form of card payment for the meal, so for travellers who are not keen on bringing cash around this isn't the place for you. What was weird is that I had heard another table ask about the machine and the employees said it was only today that it didn't work, however after reading reviews it seems that it is something that has been going on for years.

In regards to the food, it was either extremely overcooked, or undercooked and salted to an unhealthy amount. I myself ordered the mixed meat platter, which was mostly just pork. Every single piece of meat was so extremely salty that I could not even finish the meal. My friends ordered the fish platter, and found it to be undercooked and overly salty as well.

Be wary when you get your bill, as they add extra drinks to what you ordered, we had to send back the bill twice. Furthermore, after paying in cash they did not give any type of change back, I had to go up to the front to get it. Overall, this place is quite shady in its practices and not worth the hassle or stress. It is receiving 2 stars only because I believe that for the amount that is served, the price is fair (even if the food...

Review is based on the trip to Portugal in Dec 2018 First night in Lisbon and was looking for a local place(where locals go!!) to dine with my family. I did some research online before coming here and the reviews were good. So the expectations were high too!! Service was very good and fast. The server spoke English and an English menu was available. Started with the house wine and it was very nice. Ordered some bread and butter to start with and then was facing a dilemma as I wanted to try everything on the menu( the hype of Portuguese food was hitting me and this was just day 1 !!) so my wife suggested to order the mix grill.. one from both, that is Seafood mix and Meat mix!! Done !! I probably over ordered as I know that my family eats very light.. that said, it's more for me !!! Then it all came ... wow the seafood was amazing.. the Calamari, Besugo, Sardine and Salmon. Perfectly grilled and seasoned nicely. The fish was full of flavour. First time I tasted Besugo and I loved it. The meat mix was equally impressive. Pork, Lamb and chicken.. Well seasoned, and perfectly char grilled. As I was the Seafood fan in the family, I almost had 90% of the fish mix grill and I loved it!! As I guessed we did have some meat leftovers as the dishes came with some fries and rice which filled us up. The highlight to me was obviously the "Fish Mix Grill"!! The price was very reasonable which cost us EUR31.00 !! Overall a very positive start to the Portugal Vacation!! 15 more days to go and the Seafood better...

date of dining: 7th of october 2024 BEWARE: This restaurant is a tourist trap!

Many things were wrong. They placed some bread and cheese on our table, we didn't ask for it yet we did get charged for it.

We couldn't find any prices for drinks so there was no way to verify. The wine tasted very cheap but wasn't cheap when we got the bill.

Then I ordered a grilled octopus, this octopus was charred on one side yet still a bit slimey indicating that it was not fresh at all. This was confirmed the next day as me and my girlfriend both got sick.

She ordered some dish with pieces of pork that were not fully cooked through.

Our starter was a plate of shrimp where they didnt even bother to clean the shrimp before serving it. The intestines (and poop) were still there.

Aside from the food at the end they tried to shove an dessert card in front of us several times eventhough we already told them we didnt want any.

All of this 3 dishes and an unwanted starter for 60 euros with some bonus food poisoning.

0/10 would...

Nothing worked out! From aperitive to main meal, a big mess! - everything was served at the same time, so no time to drink our sangria that we already received the mains. - sangria was way too sweet - we asked 1 fried calamari to share between friends as a starter, and this is what we received. Nearly no calamari, while we saw the table next to us receiving a huge plate of those calamari. (Anyway, being honest they were the worst fried calamari I have ever tasted! Dry, tasteless but we didn't agree to pay full price for that) - we took 3 fish mixed grill. We received 3 very different plates with different fishes and different quantities (rather to receive a big plate to share between 3). Grilled should mean lean and with no grease and it was a) way overcooked and b) very oily and too greasy. True that quantities were huge but quality really poor, and no comment for the presentation of plates. We won't go back for sure, and we definitely don't recommended anyone to go.

Really enjoyed Portugese food here! I like how dishes were authentic local style. The price was very reasonable. One person portion was more like 2 ppl portion. Three of us could barely finish what we ordered. I really enjoyed their seashell soup (sooo rich in flavour) and seafood rice (amt of clams and mussels easily beats other restaurants I've been to). Fish grill set and bread were great as well. Octopus rice was a bit too salty for us but octopus was very soft and well cooked. If I visit Lisbon again, I will come back here for the soup and seafood rice again. +Be aware that there are only two waitstaff, so service could take some time. They try their best to provide good service, but with so many tables to attend to, you will have to wait a bit for attention (still, service was definitely fast for European standard 😅)
