We visited com certeza twice during our 8 day stay in Lisbon. The food was amazing, service was great, price was reasonable and the restaurant had a traditional portugese bistro ambiance. Unlike other smaller restaurants where the kitchen smells permeated the entire space, com certeza had great ventilation system and was spacious with tables being placed reasonably far away from each other. The food was unique traditional cuisine, different from just seafood commonly found in the tourist district. The food was so delicious that I forgot to take pictures of all the dishes.
We tried the stewed gizzards, pig ears, Fava beans and caldo Verde soup for appetizer. The gizzards was cooked in a delicious red wine and tomato sauce. Pig ears was fried, topped with pickled vegetables, served with some sort of sauce and mustard; I have never had pig ears cooked this way. It was great with drinks, but a little oily and definitely needs to be shared with 3 to 4 people.
For main course, we tried the razor clam seafood rice, steak on hot stone, beef shank and octopus. Every dish was delicious. The seafood rice was perfectly seasoned, beef shank fell off the bone and the octopus was so tender. Steak on hot stone was the most interesting with a raw piece of steak served on hot stone, which was cooked on the table. The steak came with the best crispy fries I have ever had and my partner polished off the other side, rice with beans.
Overall we had two amazing dinner at com certeza and would have came back for one more meal if we stayed in Lisbon longer. Will definitely be recommending it to friends and families when they visit the city. Special shoutout to Bruno, an amazing server who was fun and provided great wine...
Read moreI stumbled upon this restaurant on Google and was very excited to visit. we asked our hotel to kindly make us a reservation the day of. When we arrived to the restaurant, our table was ready and our experience began. We started with a traditional Portuguese soup and a basket of bread. Both were fantastic! Then, we moved onto the octopus and cod. Again, extremely delicious! During our dinner, we also enjoyed a bottle of vinho verde. next, we had the most exquisites, flavorful, banging duck rice we have ever tried in our lives. We also enjoyed a delicious steak that we grilled at our table. Following the main courses, we savor three of their desserts. It was so delicious and fun to try. Overall, we found this to be of excellent value. It was one of the best meals we have had in a very long time! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an authentic Portuguese meal. The servers were very kind, the food was made with love, and the entire experience was fabulous. The meal lasted about 3.5-4 hours total. I am very thankful for having had a meal at this restaurant because I will never forget the time I spend in there. We enjoyed so many laughs and celebratory conversations. I am booking my next trip just to visit this...
Read moreWhat a restaurant! It was opposite our apartment in Lisbon but I would have come a long way for this. Not touristy in decor and a relatively small but lively space with soft lighting and easy to have a conversation but its all about the food and the wine! You can share everything which is how we like to eat out so you can experience the menu. We had prawns/shrimps to start along with the polenta dish, they were both great but the polenta was so light and fluffy, divine. The absolute stand out for us was the fish soup, so much flavour in the stock and a decent amount of fish, made by a very skilled chef, I will be wanting that dish time and time again. We finished with pastel de nata with cinnamon icecream which was an awesome combination, there was a wait as the pastry was cooked to order but I was very grateful for the time to feel less full. Finally, the wine……. We were offered tastings which we really appreciated and chose a delicious duoro wine. Friendly, knowledgeable service topped off the exceptional food. This restaurant is something special,...
