India Gate Lisboa — Restaurant in Lisbon

My wife and I ate at the Indian gate today. What a decision it turned out to be!

We had two of the Chicken Samosas and two Vegetable ones. Along with Mango Chutney, Yogurt and Mint and the third was Coriander. They were absolutely divine! Full of flavour, tasted just so well indeed. The Mango Chutney was spicy too!

For the mains we had the Butter Chicken and Lamb Rogan Josh, along with Garlic Naan Bread. The Butter Chicken was the best I’ve had in a very long time! The chicken was absolutely tender, with the flavours that you expect. The Lamb Rogan Josh was so tender and also full of flavour!

The dishes came with rice that we ordered. The rice separated in a way that it was perfectly cooked.

The service was impeccable! Just a delight to be served by such people. Who clearly love their work.

The setting had a very good ambience, colourful and a delight to enjoy the surroundings whilst we ate.

Food: good Service: a desaster

That was a complete flop. The restaurant was newly empty when we were told it's not possible if one of us only orders starters and dessert (I ordered a main dish). But instead we can have it as a takeaway. In other words it's better for us to leave instead of serving us.

We agreed and ordered a main dish, vegetable starters and beverages as a takeaway. The food was served fast, but the bill didn't list any drinks. Ok, not a pitty as I thought I can grab that anywhere nearby.

After leaving and opening the bag we found out that no cutlery was put in there. Well, had to eat that on the go, I thought. The masterpiece was that the vegetarian starters (finger food) contained chicken. A very delicious experience for the vegetarian who ordered it when he had bitten into it...!

In the end it was not a total desaster because the main dish was actually tasty and I'm sure in a couple of weeks they will be a nice story to...

Over the last five years, I had the pleasure of dining at India Gate, and I must say, it has been an exceptional experience! The food is delicious, with a rich blend of authentic Indian flavors that left me craving more.

What truly sets India Gate apart is the outstanding service. Mr. Herman and the entire crew are amazing! Their warmth and hospitality made us feel right at home, and their attention to detail ensured that every aspect of our meal was perfect.

From the moment we walked in until we left, the atmosphere is always inviting, and the service is always impeccable. The menu offers a variety of dishes to suit different tastes, and each one we tried was a delight.
