I was just in Lisbon with a group of friends and at times as we walked/biked around the city we would see this seemingly lovely corner spot. At night, it functioned as a bar, and we chose to visit this spot at night specifically for one drink. I have never gone into a restaurant or store expecting my order to be correct 100% of the time, but when my friends ordered a Vodka Redbull with no issues I was expecting to follow suit right behind them. But instead, the cashier allowed a woman to cut into the line and order ahead of me. I had no issues with this, but I was confused as to why someone who had just walked in would get to order before me, who had been waiting in line for at least 3-5 minutes.
Nonetheless, after she ordered and walked off I approached the cashier and stated my order by saying in Portuguese "I would also like a Vodka Redbull, like the two men before me". The cashier for the bar nodded his head, and instead of charging me €8 for the vodka redbull like he did for my friends, he charged me €3.80. I told my friends what happened and we were all confused but chose to wait until the drinks were ready to ask what happened. When the third vodka redbull was ready someone else snatched it away before I could, and I chose to talk to the bartender and ask why I did not receive a drink yet. He then placed a cup filled with beer in front of me and said that that was my order. I told the bartender that I did not order a beer and I would like to order a vodka redbull and pay for that vodka redbull as I originally intended. He said that he would have it ready as soon as possible and started on it. The cashier then motioned for me to come back to the register and pay for the vodka redbull, which I happily agreed to do. After paying for the vodka redbull I then reached out to the counter to grab both my already paid for cup of beer, and my newly finished vodka redbull. The cashier then grabbed my attention and claimed I could not have my already paid for cup of beer. I was confused and said to him that I had just paid for two drinks and I would like to have what I paid for. He said No. He then told the bartender to take the beer away and only leave the vodka redbull for me. I told him I had paid for both drinks and would like to have both of my drinks, and he again said No.
I decided this wasn't a battle worth fighting for and so I took the only drink that the cashier allowed me to have, being my vodka redbull, and walked outside with my friends. As I was walking outside the cashier then told the bartender that I was an idiot and that I only paid for the vodka redbull. My bank statement would say otherwise. I paid €3.80 for a beer I never asked for, and €8 for a vodka redbull alongside that and left with only one drink in my hand. I wouldn't have left a review if I had just been given my two drinks that I paid for, but that coupled with being called an idiot for wanting to get my money's worth is truly,...

Read moreI don't normally write bad reviews but I had an unusually bad experience at this seemingly nice spot. The food took over 40 minutes to arrive despite me being the only customer and the bill was prohibitively expensive for only ordering a sandwich and orange juice. They kept promising me the food would be ready in 5 minutes but it turned into nearly 1 hour.
I wont be...
