Ideally located, kind of sandwiched between Praça dos Restauradores and the so-called "food street" Rua das Portas de Santo Antão, with a side entrance (and al-fresco sitting area) on Travessa de Santo Antão, Fábrica da Nata is considered one of the best places to get the freshest Pasteis de Nata (the famous Lisbon custard pies). The interior offers plenty of sit-down spots, it is airy, with the daylight coming from the overhead skylights, its walls adorned with the supersized photographs of the old Lisbon, particularly of the area where Fábrica da Nata is located and the famous Portuguese azulejos (bluish ceramic tiles). There are electronic touch-screen kiosks inside where you can pre-order your food, of course, with the English menu. The choices are not limited to the sweet pastries only, and you can get a wide variety of sandwiches (tuna baguettes, ham & cheese baguettes, grilled chicken baguettes, serra cheese & smoked ham baguettes, or tomato & mozzarella baguettes, all ranging from 1,95 € to 6 €). There are also pre-fixe menus available, so you can get a Pastel de Nata with a glass of Port wine, or a local sweet cherry-based liqueur Ginjinha (2,50 €), breakfast (ham & cheese croissant, café latte, and a Pastel de Nata for 3,90 €), or you can splurge on the so-called "almoço" or lunch, where you can get a bread crumbed chicken sandwich or smoked ham sandwich, a drink, and a Pastel de Nata, all for 4,90 €. Yes, the place is cheap even for LIsbon standards, with a cup of coffee, including Espresso (Bica), offered at 0,60 € and a Pastel de Nata for 1 €! Salads and savory pastries are excellent too. As a fine specimen of the local cuisine we would definitely recommend a savory codfish pastry (Pastel...

We tried all the famous Portuguese Tart Pastéis while in Lisbon and Fabrica de Nata was by far our favourite. First and foremost the tarts were great- they were freshly baked, pastry was flaky and crunchy, and the custard had a nice flavour and consistency- not too sweet. To be honest the tarts at Manteigaria were marginally better but Fabrica is a far better overall experience, especially if you want to sit and enjoy then head back up to the counter for seconds. We loved the indoor seating area at Fabrica. The place was beautifully renovated and had a great vibe (my wife especially loved the chandeliers). It was huge with plenty of seating, and constantly cleaned. There is also a display window where you can watch them making tarts (although I think all the hard work is done out the back). The counter service was no frills and efficient. I had two tarts and a glass of port for $3.50Eu...great value. They also serve sandwiches and quiche tarts that use the same pastry (I had the ham and cheese one morning - yum). I would recommend Fabrica de Nata for a sit down tart experience with a coffee or a port (or maybe both if your up for it). PS. Remember to dust your tarts with cinnamon- it’s the finishing touch that takes them to...

This is such a gold mine I have to say I'm so glad that I happened to stumble on this place I realized that it probably is a chain cuz I stole a couple of them scattered throughout this one but I will tell you their food is amazing it's so good and it's inexpensive. They have combo meals that you can have for less than 5 year olds which is amazing but again The taste is so good. You have the famous Portuguese custard their own recipe you want to get it nice and warm and then put pour some cinnamon on top with along with some espresso or cappuccino which I have to say is just amazingly good. I've also tried their sandwiches no complaints they are so delicious I actually took some to go and they have their homemade soups one of those soups that I had that was so good was their carrot soup I didn't even bother with the spoon I just literally just drank it from the bowl since I took it to go again we'll recommend this place there's so much to choose from the sangria the wine there also inexpensive and so good so if you're looking to save some euros I would seriously say you may want to consider this place for breakfast for lunch cuz it is...
