We recently visited Lisbon and had meals at two of the Honest Greens locations in the city including this place at Rua Rodrigues Sampaio, just off Ave da Liberdade. This is a great restaurant with plenty of options for veg, vegan and meat eaters who want creative dishes and healthy eating. Opening hours are 8am to 12am daily. This branch has a small upstair seating area and a large section downstairs as well.
There are Portuguese and English menus you take as soon as you walk into the restaurant. Staff are passionate about their food and very helpful so don't hesitate to ask if unsure how to order. Select your main plate or bowl along with whatever sides and extra protein that you want, then drinks when ordering at the counter. They will give you a pager. Just take a seat and they will bring your orders out to you when they are ready.
We tried several items on their menu during our meals, the orders all looked amazing, were fresh and tasted great. The Warm Winter Green Curry was outstanding. We also very much liked the Eggplant Carpaccio, Latin Lover, Honest Salmon and Piri Piri Chicken. All sides were good as well. H20 flavoured water is refillable so don't hesitate to try a couple flavours if during your meal as well.
In all honestly, we loved our meal experiences at both Honest Greens in Lisbon and would happily eat there on a regularly basis if we had something similar back in Hong Kong. This will be a first choice restaurant for us to return to the next time we are in Lisbon. We'll also seek out their branches in other cities in Europe in the...
Read moreI visited Honest Greens during my last night in Lisbon with my sister, since I wanted to have the ”warm halloumi bowl”. My sister and my cousin ate it the day before at another HG restaurant, and it was absolutely delicious. It was my last night and I wanted the same experience. However, when I received THE EXACT SAME BOWL tonight, it contained only one package of chickpeas and 3 bites of halloumi. The halloumi wasn’t glazed, there were only 2 small pieces of pumpkin (being the ”roasted vetetables”), no fennel, the kale was only small pieces of haulm, barely no pickled red cabbage at all, and no hot honey dressing.
Obviously, I was extremely disappointed, and tried to send it back twice. However, they only gave me small cups of sauces. This might have helped if I had received the salad that I paid for, but since there were only chickpeas on the plate… Zero sense of service from the personnel either, I did not feel like they tried to understand my compliants or even want to help me. Note to self, I usually never complain in restaurants - this was something extraordinary bad.
No stars from me, next time I’ll have a container of chickpeas at home.
(Below is my plate before and after eating chickpeas only for...
Read moreWe visited Honest Greens twice in one day—once in the morning for coffee and desserts, and again in the evening for dinner. That’s how much we loved it! The morning treats were amazing: whether it was the Cappuccino, Banana Bread or the Chocolate Banana Cake piece.
For dinner, we enjoyed the Lemon Mustard chicken, the Latin Lover garden bowl, Truffle potatoes, Muse Frank Pale Ale, and some Wine. Every dish was bursting with freshness and flavour. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. You have to place your order and pay at the till, and once ready it will be served to your seat.
The restaurant is impeccably decorated, with interiors that are both cool and sophisticated, perfectly aligning with their concept of offering healthy, fresh dishes.
It’s clearly a very popular spot, as it was bustling both in the morning and the evening, even though it was a weekday. This place is an absolute must-visit for anyone who appreciates fresh food and a chic yet...
