The food was reasonable but spoiled by the service. We arrived 10 minutes before opening and were told we could wait until service started. We were waiting when another couple arrived and was seated before us despite us being there first. We should have seen this as a bad sign. We ordered a charcuterie board to share and a glass of wine each. Our server brought the food which was nice and then the wine but not the wine we ordered. They brought the more expensive wine even though we were clear in what we ordered. We were in the middle of enjoying our starter when the main courses arrived and were put down on the table even though we were clearly not finished with our starter. Obviously our server or the kitchen was in error somewhere and they started preparing our main courses earlier than necessary. This was evident in the fact that our main courses were only warm and not hot. It must have been waiting in the kitchen for some time. Our server then brought dessert menus without asking if we wanted a dessert. When they came back we asked for the bill. They brought the bill and card machine. Before my partner had a chance to check the bill our server had put the amount on the bill into the machine and took payment. It was only after the fact that my partner took note that there was a "suggest service charge" of 5% added to the total which we would not have paid given the chance to read the bill properly. The food was ok but over all the experience was let down by poor service. I wouldn't recommend...
Read moreI visited this Italian bistro with high expectations, as they market themselves as a place with real Italian owners and genuinely delicious cuisine. However, unfortunately, the positive aspects end there.
The restaurant is clearly geared towards tourists, and it shows in every way. First, they offer you the menu to browse, and then they bring you wine or champagne without mentioning the price. It feels like they intentionally create a situation where the customer feels uncomfortable asking about the price each time, only to be hit with an inflated bill at the end. I was unpleasantly surprised when I saw the final amount, as I didn’t expect such high prices for a glass that was offered without prior warning.
When I asked for a digestif at the end, it turned out that the staff didn’t even know what that was. The head manager asked the bartender, who only offered me limoncello. I explained that a digestif could include grappa, limoncello, and other drinks, which clearly surprised them. It seems these people have never been to Italy.
In the end, I left with the feeling that this restaurant is more focused on tourists who are willing to overpay for such tactics. If you’re looking for genuine Italian hospitality, I would recommend finding...
Read moreWow wow wow! 🤩 I walked in here solo early in the night about an hour after they opened and they were not too busy just yet (started filling up quite quick!) If you sit at the bar, you get the chance to peer into the kitchen and witness the magic happen. The service was fantastic, and I even had the opportunity to sample and taste some of their breads and wines. Let me tell you, I have had red wine all over the world and in many US states, and you should take their suggestions and let them take care of you here! I felt very welcome and attended to, and the wine selection and tastes are extremely unique (and mostly local to Portugal!) They had a truffle chef's menu, and I selected the veal. The chef presented the meal and also shaved the truffles onto the veal for me explaining where they were from and what kinds they were. The veal was incredible and there are really no further words beyond that. Absolutely fantastic. I ended up caving on dessert, and my god, just look at the photos at this point 😂 Don't miss the chance to try this place if you are in Lisbon. It is fantastic all...
