dear owner,

sadly i could not talk to you in person about your management.

but here we go virtual: unprofessional unfriendly disinterest about customers

Ladies and Gentlemen, dear owner,

I would like to share my perspective with you today about the feeling I was given here in this beautiful place.

Unfortunately, there was no real greeting right from the start, even though this environment took such a thing for granted.

Nevertheless, you want to enjoy the surroundings and treat yourself to a drink.

I would be happy to take the time and share this with you.

Namely: the very friendly waitress behind the counter understood that I unfortunately can't speak Portuguese very well and served me in English. I simply wanted 2 beers and 2 cafes for me and my girlfriend.

The lady asked kindly which glass, small or large. I preferred small so that it stays fresh, but preferably from a wine glass.

The lady did the same, but Mr. Nelson didn't approve of it, which is why I left the drink order behind.

Because I didn't want to let myself and my girlfriend's evening be ruined, I accepted the cafes and that was it.

This is about recognition and customer-friendly interaction. Due to guidelines, you are not allowed to drink beer from such a glass?

In the meantime I stay and am curious whether the owner cares about who he hires as a manager.

On a beautiful sunny day, where the place was unfortunately empty, keeping guests away is...

This used to be a good place, however since the new management came in a lot of stupid rules have been applied. The waiters are extremely rude and for the last 3 times I went there they have almost forced me to order through a QR code that demands you to insert you email and phone number and obviously, to agree that they keep your data, in a scam that i doubt is normal or even legal. Please do not give your data to these random places as it is most likely not secure. Plus, they are extremely bothered if you order at the counter. Now they also have this amazing new rule of not allowing the use of computers and have the tiniest yellow paper with white letters (completely unreadable) just to “comply” with the law that says “no studying or working”, well guess what? I can be on my computer just chilling and I can work on my phone. Are you going to forbid phones as well? Honestly I should have asked for LIVRO DE RECLAMACOES and I strongly advice everyone to do so even (and maybe, specially) tourists. This way the authorities can investigate the absurdities this place is forcing onto customers. You have lost a regular one and by looking at all the other bad reviews you’ve lost quite a few. I dare say this was one of the worst services I’ve...

EDIT / REVIEWED (my previous review was 5 stars) A place I have been a customer of since it opened, the location is amazing, food great and was just a cozy place all around. However, it has for the last few months changed for the worst. The place was completely redone in a way that all outdoor sitting is fixed to the floor, and what was once a cozy place will now fit 3x more people than it used to, so it has become very uncomfortable very quickly. We used to be able to study and work here, it is now completely forbidden at all times even out of peak periods. Prices have gone up insanely in a matter of months, and a coffee is now €1,50. And finally.... We are now forced to order at the table via QR code, and to be able to pay (card only), we must leave our mobile and email address - would love to see how that fits with GDPR.... All in all, after 20 years of coming here, I can say with sadness that it feels all the locals are being driven away and this is now an Instagramable location, being this the owners'...

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, it just didn’t deliver. From the start, the setup was confusing—it’s self-service, which I wasn’t expecting, and honestly, it didn’t feel like it added any value to the experience. If anything, it made things more chaotic. The staff seemed overwhelmed and disorganized. We were rushed through the line, given barely any time to make decisions, and somehow ended up being charged for items we didn’t even order. The food itself was underwhelming at best. For the price we paid, I was expecting something at least decent, but everything felt bland and thrown together. Nothing stood out, and it definitely wasn’t worth what they were charging. The only semi-redeeming quality was the atmosphere—it was clean and had a nice vibe, but nothing beyond average. It wasn’t enough to make up for the overall experience. Between the confusion, the mediocre food, and the feeling of being overcharged, I can confidently say I wouldn’t return or recommend it.

This chic terrace cafe is set right on a water feature that simulates a small lake (or large handsome puddle) Beautiful people take a break from shopping at the nearby El Corte Inglés and sip red or white wine "sangria" (Spaniards, don't panic! Authentic sangria can only be had in Spain, we know.) So, if you are a sangria purist, you may enjoy a delicious Porto Tónico and feel like a local rich insider. The food is also recommended. We had the shrimp patty, pizza (Italians, don't panic!...) and pastel de nata (of course we did) and enjoyed luxuriating looking at the dogs playing in the water. Oh yeah, you can bring your dog and enjoy quality time in this park spot reserved for the discerning crowd.
