This area used to be a public square with benches and shade, where people used to sit. Workers who needed some rest, locals who wanted to hang, train users waiting for their way home. Now it's just another gentrification point in the city. "Rossio Gardens", the guts, to destroy a public space and write everything little thing in english, saying precisely what they want. Locals out, tourists in. Build without a license from the parish council , because they have nothing to say when it's not their own property. This is a claim I have written proof of. "Chill Vibes" , they say - for those who can afford to sit here now. Notice how locals now sit on the gentrification wall trying to get some shade from the bushes they this place so lovingly planted to separate clients from the real Lisbon. Think of this when considering coming to this place for "delicious cocktails " It's also the visitor's responsibility to understand the harm you're doing to the city. If they have no costumers they have no business and they close....
Read moreThe worst dining experience of my life. The staff was completely unprepared; they didn't know their own menu, and the service was apathetic and lacking empathy. It felt like they were tied to the place and forced to work; they hardly paid attention to the tables. Most of the time, they were strutting around and whispering to each other.
The food seemed like it had been frozen and reheated, and it was very poorly served. I ordered pasta with pesto; I asked for pesto? It didn’t resemble pesto sauce at all, and the dish was served cold. My friend's dish, spaghetti al pomodoro with burrata, was submerged in water; it looked inedible and unpalatable. When we requested explanations, the manager or head waiter showed little interest in resolving the issue, along with their unprepared team.
My recommendations: Don't spend your money here, tourists. Look for a place with truly good food and...
Read moreNice location and good music. Sad to say that service was really slow and unprofessional. 3 different people ask to take the order. We ordered two ciders. They brought us two beers. "Here is your two beers" when I said "we ordered two ciders" he said "yeah. It’s cider. Just in a beer glass" But surprise, surprise. It was beer. When I walked to the bar and said we accidentally got the wrong drinks I got the run around instead of a quick "sorry I’ll fix that for you"
When paying (which also took forever) I said that it’s a bummer the server who said she’d be right back never came back with the bill. Only thing I got in response was "here’s the total and below you see the suggested tip"
TL:DR - lots went wrong. A simple "sorry" would’ve fixed all of it. Got asked to tip for subpar service after...
