Our first night in Lisboa and we were on the search for a real ale pub. After arriving by tube into the city we tried desperately to find this pub walking through dodgy streets and up hundreds of steps when finally we came across this extraordinary pub in a traditional street with tight knit terraced houses with washing hanging out the windows. It is a cracking pub. We were so relieved to find it and the guy who was running it ( sadly whose name I can’t remember ) was a perfect Portuguese host …. My friend ordered a flight of beers and when I asked also for a flight of beers he got impatient and was frustrated for no reason at all. Read moreDon't be rude and dismissive if someone asks about a glass of wine. Totally appreciate it's a beer bar. I used to run a craft beer bar myself and you've got to be prepared for all requests. I am normally all over the beer menu and trying different styles and this bar would be great for that ...staff just need to be a bit more hospitable when it comes to other requests! I also witnessed a less than enthusiastic response to another set of customers.
