The environment was amazing, the staff was caring and very knowledgeable about the food. We were a group of 9 and we did not know what to order so one of the employees ordered a bit of everything to taste. It was a pleasant surprise.
In terms of food:
the seasoning is flavourful and distinct from the Portuguese cuisine which it was something I was looking for since it was not just the usual food but in a taco. The meat was great but it was dry.
I feel the price of the cocktails could be lower. 7.5 euros for a drink is too much for the reality in Portugal. NO ONE in the group ordered cocktails. Just beer and lemonade.
I want to highlight the octopus taco. It does not feel Mexican at all, but it was so tender and the sauce in it was marvellous. A perfect balace of tanginess and savory. The flavour was strong so some people might not like it. The bean sauce also amazing.
The tacos were mildly spicy, there are sauces that can increase the heat if the person desires. I did not feel the need, it was balanced already. There are other sauces to complement the tacos.
Some of the members were desiring some burritos and other appetisers. There are only nachos as appetisers with some sauces. To be fair, the tacos come in 3 small portions so I understand that the taco might fill the gap between appetiser and main course. However maybe some onion rings or shrimp could be added. Burrito options could be something to consider.
At the end everyone paid between 23-25 euros. Will I return? If someone invites me, yeah I don't mind and Definitely want to taste the "abuela" dishes. However the price and the type of food might not appeal to everyone so I would approach...

We have been in Porto for a while and since we miss good Mexican food we decided to visit this new restaurant Sicario Taqueria. Big Mistake! According to the website the restaurant opens at 7:30 pm, we got there at 7:35 pm and everybody looked at us as "what the heck are these people doing here so early?" They seemed like not ready to start attending clients.
The person who was at the entrance asked if we had a reservation, which we didn't have. My husband said: No, we don't! Do we need one? Is your restaurant full-booked? And the man said: yes, the restaurant is full right now in a very rude way, he was kind of laughing at us. We looked around and the restaurant was totally empty. We asked to talk with the manager because the guy's attitude was very rude.
Well, the manager was NOT different. She didn't apologize, she didn't try to find a solution, at the contrary, she was very arrogant.
I cannot write about the quality of the food, the decor, the ambiance, etc...because we didn't get past the door.
Maybe this restaurant is not kid-friendly and when they saw a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) they weren't happy.
This experience was very unpleasant! It makes us appreciate even more the customer service you get in other resturants, in which the customers are...
Read moreTruly excellent! Delicious food, one of the best margaritas I've ever had, and a delicious tequila sunrise.
As others have commented, they do kind of trick you by providing chips with refried beans and pic de gallo salsa when you sit down, which you might expect is free but actually costs €5. However, the pico de gallo was maybe the best I've ever tasted - fresh and balanced and really delicious. A great start.
I'll leave it to others to identify how authentic the food is, as I've never lived in Mexico I can't be the authority.
The service was excellent, attentive without being annoying. I'm going to go back tomorrow to try some of the different flavours of margaritas and potentially some other cocktails.
Very good stuff, if you're nearby I strongly...
