Place was so busy when we arrived and left. People sat outside drinking and eating. Great atmosphere. We were lucky to get a table inside. A couple left as we walked in. There's plenty of space outside to stand or sit on a sidewalk. We came here for a drink and a little snack but we ended up having loads of wine and a huge platter of meat and cheese! The house wine was out of stock when we got there so we went for the €4 a glass of red. It was really nice. We ordered a meat and cheese platter, bread and a two person portion of the toast mozzarella, ham and rocket. Everything was a huge portion so I'd double check what exactly your ordering. Tasted great. We grazed on it with more wine. Tried the green wine also which was nice too. The place was very busy and we saw some big lines to get served but it always moved fast so no one is waiting long. The toilets aren't great. Two toilets, pee all over the floor and no toilet paper when I went in. That's not enough to put me off coming here though. Great place! But the toilets might be an issue for some people.

Saw an article about Aduela in Time Out from 2017 and thought we'd give it a go. Opens at 3pm but we had to wait an hour more before they finished setting out the tables and chairs. Order and pay first at the bar and take your drinks with you. Food is delivered to the table. The place got packed out quickly. There are sturdier and larger tables inside where the interior is quite different to many other eateries and worth a look. Music was overly loud at times. Aduela serves small plates of food including a ham assortment (with three bits of cheese), cold sardines on crunchy toast (very good and quality), ham sandwiches, salads and more. We had glasses of beer, red and white wine, sangria, real lemonade (sharp), a few food items all for a reasonable sub €40. There is also live music outside. An enjoyable and affordable way to spend a Sunday afternoon in Porto.

My favourite bar in Porto. It’s a little pearl with the outside garden. In the mornings and afternoons it’s full of people drinking coffee and eating brunch or just drinking beer or wine. However, in the evenings it’s full of life with mix of people of different age. A lot of people just stands on the street and drinks. Even when it’s full, the service is quick and you never stand long in the queue. Definitely must have to experience. Also hidden gem/drink - Amendao Amarga. Almond liqueur with lemon juice.

On April 17, 2025, at around 9:00 p.m., we were a group of four people and sought shelter from the rain in a bar located . Although we had a bag containing reusable bottles and cups, two members of the group had been drinking from the bar beforehand.

Once inside the establishment, we were not drinking at that exact moment and kept the empty cups in our hands, to avoid throwing them away or losing them, as they would be used later.

Shortly after, a Portuguese man — apparently an employee or person associated with the bar — approached us in a passive-aggressive manner, questioning our presence in the place without actively drinking. While talking, he accidentally spat in the face of one of the members of the group, who reacted with a comment: “You don’t need to spit”. From then on, the man began to intentionally spit aggressively, which generated a physical reaction of pushing from the offended party. Then, the man asked us to “not fight” and walked away. We noticed that he was accompanied by a woman.

About 20 minutes later, he returned to the place and tried to kick us out again, this time speaking to the bartenders. However, at that time, our group was already drinking and no action was taken against us.

We consider the individual's behavior to be completely unacceptable, aggressive and disrespectful, especially considering that there was no provocation and that we were just seeking shelter from the rain. This type of behavior compromises the safety and hospitality of customers, especially when directed in a discriminatory manner.

We ask that the establishment investigate the incident, identify the individual involved and take measures to prevent similar situations from happening...
