'I don't want to hurt you'... This is what was said to me by the woman at the door who wouldn't allow us in. I have never felt so hurt myself. I felt less than human... I try not to be petty but this has to be called out. In a gay culture where we don't judge and accept all, this place failed. They deserve to fail. I look forward to the day when they realize the mistakes they continue to make. But by then it is too late and they will close permanently. These places never last... limiting yourself to a type of cleintle with a certain look ultimately fails but I'm sure they think their discrimination is good marketing... They have drag performances there and it's advertised in many gay publications marketed to Americans... Is this because I'm American? It certainly felt that way... I conduct myself in a very respectful manner. I hadn't been drinking. I have money to spend. We wanted to eat and grab a drink. There was no line to get in. There is nothing on their website about a dress code. In fact, there's a Trip Advisor mention that this place doesn't have a dress code. This place was recommended to us .. I was wearing a button down shirt and jeans. Was it the baseball cap? Then tell me to take it off... It is hard to travel with just dress pants and dress shoes... This is a bad reflection on Porto. I want to make sure that every gay and straight traveler avoids this place like the plague whether you're...
Read moreI wish I could review the food, the interior l, or anything; but what I can review is the service. Knowing that this place can be “selective” about whom they serve (from the reviews) I made a booking for dinner. I saw that they opened at 7:30p (19:30) so I made a booking for (20:00) 8:00p, when we arrived it was after (19:30) 7:30 and when we arrived and the lights were off and the door locked, when 8:05 (20:05) came and went and the door was still locked we left; and we will not be back (not that they really care). It is one thing to be a walk-up and not get seated but, when you make a booking you expect them to keep that booking or at minimum, notify you that they are not taking clients at that time. This shows that they do not want or need your business and therefore; I will not give it to them. Please, read the reviews and understand this is one time when people are saying negative things about a place and they are all true, if you read my reviews, you will see, I try not to leave negative reviews but sometimes they...
Read moreIf you're looking for an Lgbt friendly place or even a place that knows how to operate a business do not go here! They accused us of not paying and held us there against our will. And prior to that removed our table which had a bottle of wine on it and expected us to go where with it?! They run a scam with these bingo cards they call tickets. That are supposed to be interchangeable every I don't know how many times. And for what?? To confuse guests that just want to have a good time. And accuse them of not paying? Changed their mind when I was the one to insist they check the cameras to see I did in fact pay for their overpriced wine. And by the way when you make a reservation online it doesn't specify whether it's for dinner or not. I did not want dinner and I was overcharged for something I did not even want. Don't waste your money on unfriendly jerks. There are nice business owners in Porto and it's not these...
