Read moreThis is an incredible restaurant and was a highlight of our weekend in Porto. It was recommend to us by the staff in our guesthouse, who know the owners.
The restaurant is in a traditional stone building hidden up a narrow alleyway, it's equally narrow and spread across three or four floors but manages to feel spacious. It serves a mix of traditional Portuguese tapas (or petiscos) and main dishes along with local wines.
There was some confusion over our booking when we arrived - we thought we had booked (via our guesthouse), but we hadn't... but it didn't matter as they were able to fit us in. We stood by the bar whilst we waited and chatted with one of the owners (?) as he prepared a number of dishes and desserts for other diners with obvious care and passion. We didn't eat anything else that evening, so this restaurant is the only possible cause. Our vacation was totally ruined. We didn't go to all the booked activities in the next few days (which were non-refundable). This was completely disappointing. Besides, the food wasn't even tasty at all. We wasted money here and ruined our vacation.
P.S. Since I can't respond to the comment of the owner, I will edit my review. I understand that you want to defend your "restaurant," but this is not the case. We are 100% sure that my bf got poisoned because of your food. We ate the same dishes during the last days. Only he ate the fish with vegetables and got poisoned. The first symptoms started after 5 hours. Which is typical for fish/vegetables poisoning.
By the way, it is worth it to highlight that the fish have not even been bone-free or...
