Honorato Clérigos — Restaurant in Porto

Tldr: Honorato to burgers is a classic mixed bag. On face value, the burgers are good but small, the drinks and the atmosphere astetic and pleasant. Some of the wait staff though definitely needs training and need to learn to be professional. Also be warned they tend to grill their burgers very rare. One of mine came out partially raw.

Alot I'd say went wrong both in my visit and is left to be desired. On my trip there I found my waitress very unpleasant. From the moment I entered she seemed very annoyed to give me any service. As if she was doing me a favor and I was bothering her. She had to be waved down constantly to take my order as well as to bring me a receipt. She got mine and my partners orders wrong in multiple ways and when I asked her to please replace my regular burger, (which had had bacon added to it for no reason. Unfortunately i cannot eat bacon) she went to the back and 5 seconds later came back with the same burger having picked off some toppings. When I expressed my concern that the burger had not been replaced and that the toppings were simy removed, she tried to disagree with me until finally going over to the bar with my burger to tell her staffers how she's annoyed. After another 10 minutes, she finally went to the back of house to express to the chef to make a new one. The second one on rush came back partially raw. To be honest I was not too suprised as the first two were quiet rare and we asked for medium as my partner isn't as much of a carnivore as I am. The other burger which was brought correct was delicious though even their large burgers seem kind of small. Te drinks were good. Would not return though. Food is good as always, but service keeps having a lot of improvement opportunities. People have to wait outside even when it’s raining (we waited 20 mins standing outside, when there were empty table with no one talking to us, but just passing by ignoring our presence). Food is good, but fries were cold this time. For the price you’re asking we expect always great quality. If you don’t have the infrastructure or staff to take in as much people as the number of tables you have, please reduce the number of tables. Regarding the staff, they’re clearly over worked… they’re running from one side to the other (this was not a one time thing…). For the long run you must hire more people for peak hours or else this will keep happening and you’ll end up losing more clients :( Note that this comment is not a complaint about the current staff - once we were seated everyone was nice - but to the conditions they have to work in… Note 2: asked for the food I didn’t eat for take away but they never gave the box to me. I suppose it sadly went to trash… Another improvement opportunity is to have numbers on the table. I saw one of the employees counting the tables to know exactly what table to charge. It seemed like the waiter was being nice and very direct. Before we ordered our food, as he handed us our menus, he brought two “specialty beef balls” just as one would bring a free starter. We ate them before realizing that this item was on the menu for the price of 1.50. Everything from then was great until we were shown the check. This was well above what we had calculated. Turns out that as we ordered our burgers , the waiter had very subtly and calmly asked, right after “how would you like your meat”, whether we wanted the dressing on our salad to be yoghurt or vinegar. First he asked me, about the meat and the dressing, and then my friend, using the same formula, in a direct and hasty manner. We were charged for each salad. For the salads, when we complained, he didn’t even try to claim that he had “offered”, as he said he had done for the beef balls (for which he hadn’t either).
