Edit: We went back! Ordered the chicken sandwich again and also tried the pastrami sandwich this time and were not dissappointed. The pastrami was rather balanced, perhaps a bit more dijon mustard as it was a bit dry for some bites, but in all a great brunch sandwich! This time we also tried the pistachio cheesecake! Perfectly good, nice! Forgot to take a photo of it, we were too eager to taste it!
Original: Perfect place to have a nice and balanced meal! The restaurant has a nice and calm atmosphere in an isolated yard. I ordered a lemonade with blueberry syrup, double espresso and the chicken sandwich. The lemonade was a nice pairing between the sweetness of the syrup and the sourness from the lemons. Double espresso was strong, as it should be. The chicken sandwich was well balanced with the buttery toasted brioche bread, freshness of the vegetables and the shredded chicken. The grated parmesan cheese was a nice touch. We planned to have a piece of cheesecake but were too full after sandwich. Expect to wait a bit if you plan to go here, but no longer than 15-20 min, and the food is delivered quickly, but not too quickly. All in all, a nice experience and I can see myself going back again to try...
Read moreIt hurts to give this place 4 stars instead of 5 because it has such a great vibe, excellent service, and real potential to offer outstanding dishes. However, I specifically came for the Eggs Benedict and cheesecake, and while they clearly understand flavors, they seemed too lazy to execute the dishes properly.
With Eggs Benedict, the eggs are the star—but unfortunately, everything except the eggs was done beautifully. The dish looked amazing, and I was excited to dig in. But when I went to cut into the poached egg, expecting a rich, runny yolk, I got a very unpleasant surprise—the egg was boiled hard instead of poached (and in Eggs Benedict it should always be poached), leaving it dry and disappointing.
Then came the cheesecake, and sadly, the same issue—it was just too dry, making it far from the enjoyable dessert I had hoped for.
It’s frustrating because this place has everything needed to be truly great, but the execution on these key dishes fell short. I really hope they fine-tune their attention to detail because the potential is...
Read moreI’m usually a bit skeptical while giving 5 star ratings, but i’m proud to say, Say cheesecake in all ways and forms has earned 5 star rating from me. Even though being really central it was rather comfortable there, compared to other nice places in Porto with huge lines outside. I always thought how much better one could get with Avocado sandwiches but i was proven so wrong. Not only the Avocado toast and Avocado Croissant were outstandingly delicious, they were just terrific! I mean, i’m kinda sad i didn’t order two of those! And then at Waiter’s recommendation we went for the pistachio cheesecake and that was an absolute delight. It was just pure bliss and i’m so grateful that i was able to enjoy it during my trip to Porto. Also, Rui, the waiter, made the experience more wholesome for us with his recommendations and insights regarding what to have. All in all, it should be on everyone’s must visit list when they...
