Terraplana Café — Restaurant in Porto

We had found this place online before going there with high expectations set by previous reviewers. TerraPlana went above and beyond. We got a pizza to share, hummus and pitta bread and a cocktail each. The pizza was made in front of us behind the bar. There's no table service, you have to order at the bar and they'll bring it to your table but that's no hassle either. The cocktails are gorgeous, even just to look at they're incredible. They had special cocktails but also made any classics you want for about €7.50 Truly proper cocktail artistry and to get it at such a low price is incredible. All the portions for food are big for the price as well. The servers were friendly and attentive and when we left they were very happy to see we enjoyed our bits. Really incredible place, wish we got to go back before our holiday ended. Definitely in the books for any future...

I honestly struggle to pick what my favourite thing about Terraplana is - the people, the drinks, the look and the vibe. Everything is amazing, the drinks are made with quality ingredients and you can choose between classic ones and creative ones, each being rewarding in their own way.

None of this would have been possible, however, without such an attentive and caring staff, who really helped make you feel like a regular there right from your first visit. A special shoutout goes to their bartender who reached out to us for feedback on a new cocktail and let us have a sneak peek for an upcoming one, not yet on the menu. Having the ability to get recommendations from a very knowledgeable person who's also super friendly and approachable really makes the whole experience shine.

TL;DR: Go there ASAP, and know your first time definitely will not...

The only bad thing, I could say about this tremendous bar, is that it closes midnight latest. Cocktails are great, selection is creative and well executed. They offer small bites like cheese & sausage boards with self made bread and local specialties. Quesadillas and Pizzas are good as well. There is a small selection of tap beers and a large variety of mostly excellent international beers in bottles. The location itself is well designed, follows a certain well-balanced industrial, but modern style. The "secret garden" and the upper level are just gorgeous. Also kudos to the staff which has been immensely nice and friendly, even flirty you could argue. The bar is queer friendly. Lastly, the pricing is fair, or even cheap when you think about what you get. Total recommendation. Lucky we just discovered...
