The food is amazing here, it was so delicious we can recommend to anyone considering! We didn't know what to order so we asked for recommendations from waiter. We ordered chicken mandy, buried meat (lamb), mutton curry - which was served with amazing huge fresh bread. We loved all the dishes! The dishes were also huge so great value for money. We rounded this off with a dessert of amisob "maessob gate of aden" which was really nice too! The portions are also huge, we were a group of 5 and had difficult finishing - check out the pics. The hidden gem of the meal however was a lamb soup which I'm not sure if it came with one of the dishes we ordered, or its complimentary for all guests, but it was amazing! So flavourful and hearty! Hope you can try it too! The place was really busy when we went and we were lucky to get space inside. We shared one of the side rooms with another family and they put a temporary divider in to give us both some privacy. Staff were attentative and friendly and service was good. The deco of the place is very basic, but you are coming here for the food and not the deco.

Great tasting food with Huge Portions. Good Middle Eastern Food Al Bandar is the best way to end off a Qatari visit. Forget about getting a table and rather opt for a room where you sit on the floor surrounded by pillows and everyone eats off a dish in the middle. The grilled chicken and lamb kabsa is proper good food and utterly to die for. It seems fairly simple being meat and rice but the flavours will rival any 5* establishment. Portions are massive so go easy on the menu. Each dish can be shared by 2 or even 3 people and when you're stuffed to the gills and getting the meat sweats just sit back, stretch out and relax for a few minutes... your appetite will return shortly to finish off the rest. Soup or rather a meaty tasting broth is served before main meals arrive so go slowly on that. The naan is gigantic and enough for 4 people if you can manage to get the soft, buttery goodness away from the first person to grab it. Al Bandar is not to be missed

Tried this place on a Friday night and it was very busy. All of the grill meats were sold out as well as all of the chicken dishes except for chicken stew. I was a little disappointed that I didn’t get to try them. My group ordered chicken stew with vegetables, fish stew, and buried meat which was the last order they had remaining! It was lamb cooked underground supposedly and it was very tender and arrived on a bed of rice. We especially loved the fresh bread that came with it. It was perfectly crunchy and chewy. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal here and the service was as best as it could be during such busy hours. We got to sit down on the floor area in a side room and they put a divider for us. It was a neat dining experience. We originally wanted to get the banquet but couldn’t figure out how to order that due to the language barrier. I might return to try the other grilled meats.

We were in Doha on a long stopover, so we decided to have dinner on a local restaurant. We checked on Google Maps and saw the good reviews that Bandar Aden had, so decided to give it a try. It is located just in the heart of the Souq Waqif, so very convenient. We were really amazed by the quality and quantity of the food. The waiter did his best to give us some recommendations and show us how everything was eaten, since it was the first time we tried this kind of food. He was looking out for us all the time. We tried the lamb with rice and a chili. Lamb was soft and delicious. It melted in your mouth. Also ordered some typical dessert. We could not even finished all the food. Everything was accompanied by warm bread, which was even replaced once cooled down. You can see the pictures to check the looks of it. Ambiance was local and relaxed. Can only recommend this restaurant!

The restaurant is located in Souq Waqif. The interior of the restaurant is not luxurious and not very clean. You can find food on the floor because they do not wipe the tables properly after customers finish eating, they cover the table with plastic wrap and take the new order from the new customer. The staff lacks a sense of service and is not trained at all. However, the food is extremely delicious. They have a variety of Yemeni dishes, and all of them are tasty. I wish they had delivery service instead of visiting the restaurant, especially on weekends because there is no waiting list, you have to wait for any table with people eating, and when they finish, you can take the table as if you're in a race. These are my comments based on multiple times I have tried the restaurant, but when it comes to the food, it is really delicious.

I’ve only had Yemeni food twice before but this makes it three for three for excellent experiences. You always get the epic and huge bread and this place’s bread was the best I’ve had. The mutton curry in the sizzling mortar is hard for me to pass up. It is very salty but as long as you pair it with the amazing bread, it’s perfect. I would rather go as a group and try more stuff since the rice dishes also look great. But the kicker is the location right in the heart of where you want to be: between the souq and the corniche. For cooler nights their outside seating looks tempting.
