Eggstro - Raňajky & Brunch Bratislava — Restaurant in Bratislava

It was the worst service I have ever encountered. I can't comment on the food because we couldn't even eat it. Everything was strange from the very beginning. We entered the restaurant, found a table and sat down. No waiter came to the table to ask for our order until I went to the bar and said I wanted to order. 15 minutes after we ordered, the same waiter came and asked us to repeat our order. We repeated our order (we ordered one sunny side up egg and one scrambled egg) and started waiting. We waited for our eggs for more than half an hour. Even the customers who came after us ate their food and left. Then I went to the bar and said that our order had not served, and the same waiter rudely said that she will bring it soon. We sat at the table again and started waiting again. After waiting for a while, I went back to the bar and told them that we want to cancel if our order will not come soon, because being kept waiting for 1 hour for eggs is insane. Another employee told me she will check our order. I returned to my table with one last hope and we waited another 10 minutes. Since there was no one paying attention to us, we got up from the table and went to the bar and told her to cancel our order. There was not even an apology. We visited Eggstro – Raňajky & Brunch Bratislava for lunch, drawn in by the glowing Google reviews and a menu focused on eggs - a personal favourite of my partner’s.

The interior was modern and stylish, and while the space looked inviting, the experience sadly didn’t quite match the expectations. On arrival, we were surprised to find only one other guest in the restaurant during peak lunchtime. It took a few minutes before a staff member appeared, and unfortunately, her reception felt less than warm.

On a day where temperatures hit nearly 30°C, the indoor space felt stifling. Although air conditioning units were clearly installed, we were told they couldn’t be turned on, and due to the language barrier, we weren’t able to get much clarity as to why.

The food, thankfully, was the highlight - well-prepared, tasty, and clearly made with care. It’s a shame the overall experience didn’t live up to the quality on the plate. With a more welcoming service and a comfortable dining environment, I imagine it would have been a very different lunch.

While we won’t likely return on our next visit to Bratislava, I do hope others get to enjoy the best version of what Eggstro has the...

The worst breakfast of our lives. We ordered "Caprese bread" (bread, tomato, burrata, arugula) three times. Besides the long wait, we were utterly surprised by what we got. We received a completely fried, cheap roll with three tomatoes and three mini mozzarella balls. No burrata. It wasn't presented nicely, and when I squeezed the roll a little, so much oil and fat came out.

The staff didn't respond to our objections that we shouldn't eat it. We had to pay the full price, no apology. While the other two left their food, I ate half of the roll and felt so sick afterwards.

Please don't go to that restaurant. We had breakfast at „Mondieu“ afterwards. Maybe "Eggstro" should go there for a team day and get some inspiration for good food and...
