Just back from a stay at this hotel & cannot compliment it enough.
I originally booked one of the suites in the old fashioned part of the hotel. The room was large, bright & absolutely spotless. I had an issue the first night with guests in room next door having zero control of the kids, at one point leaving their door open so the kids were running & up down screaming or in the room shouting.
Needless to say this is an inconsiderate guest issue rather than the hotel but having contacted reception, they gave me a deluxe room in the modern, industrial section. They allowed me to keep the original room so I could move everything at my own leisure & were incredibly helpful asking if anything more could be done. I already had the wine package & the mini bar is free so the fact it was guests to blame rather than hotel, I moved without causing any issues.
The second room was a fair bit smaller but was nicely decorated with a funky, converted steel mill kind of feel. Again, it was spotless.
The mini bar was well stocked & even small details like the room service noticing I had only drank the original pepsi rather than diet, replaced all bottles with original. Its a minor detail but one that no other hotel I have stayed at has ever picked up on.
We ate here a few times. Food & service was always spot on. Friendly, reasonable portions & great food. If you're not staying here, its at least worth a visit for a bite to eat. It is a bit more expensive for drinks than anywhere else in the area but still nothing on London prices so happy to pay the extra for the quality.
Location is good but as others have put, it is on the outskirts. Only a 10 minute walk though so shouldn't cause problems for most. Failing that, Bolts or Ubers can be booked for around 3-4 euro so if you can't be bothered to walk, its cheap enough to not care.
I do a lot of traveling & have been to hotels a considerable amount more than here but this is a contender for best stay (ignoring the problematic neighbours on day 1) and at a snip of the price....
Read moreIn May 2016, we made a reservation for this hotel for October 2016. Booking was made directly with the hotel, and payment taken. In July, we received an email to say that the hotel would be undergoing renovations and would be closed for our visit in October. We were offered accommodation in another hotel of "similar standard", approx 25 minutes away heading out of town. This other hotel, however, did not come with the additional amenities that we had paid for - including a minibar stocked with beers from the micro-brewery.
When we got to Bratislava a few days ago, we saw the hotel whilst out walking. There were no signs of any renovations. We spoke to the receptionists, who said that yes our reservation had been cancelled, but that they knew nothing about any room renovations, couldn't show us rooms in the process of being renovated and that we would have to speak to the manager. Unfortunately, it was evening, and apparently there was no manager on duty. Over the course of our short stay in Bratislava, we met others who had also had their rooms cancelled. Digging deeper, it seems that there was a major sporting event near the city. My conclusion is that the hotel took our booking, but then soon realised that they could cancel our rooms, put up their rates, and make more money! We talked to people who had the same experience at the nearby Austria Trend hotel, who ended up being accommodated in a Holiday Inn.
If this wasn't enough, the day we returned home, we received an email from The Loft asking us to review our stay!!
I think that this was such an awful way to treat guests. I certainly can't recommend this hotel, given they way they...

Greeted by the wonderful Gretka (who was in touch with us before we arrived with our requests on local recommendations and restaurants) we were checked in with ease to our HUGE family room overlooking the nearby Presidential Garden.
The room was fitted out with two comfortable Kings with the modern tweaks of an inner city large apartment. With coffee machine, huge tv, large bathroom with monsoon shower and a bar fridge with a good selection of local and regional drinks, we were more than happy and comfortable.
The hotel is within walking distance of all of the major attractions including the castle, the cumil, primates palace, the Christmas markets, and the dining centre near the main square. The blue church isn’t far past these and it’s easy to get around by foot or car.
There is an on-site wine and lounge bar and the popular FABRIKA beer pub (see my review on FABRIKA) for drinks and meals both western and local in origin. It was busy on the Friday we attended so make sure you book of eating here.
Breakfast is ample with an massive spread of pastries, meats, hot and cold breakfast options.
The hotel is clean, comfortable, in a great location and has amazing staff (Gretka as our favourite). Definitely worth staying when exploring the sights and flavours of Bratislava.
Thank you to Gretka for making this wonderful stay even more amazing and we will see you next time we are back...
