ARROI Restaurant — Restaurant in Bled

THE WORST DINNER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. Ok, let me start with that I never write reviews on Google. Even if the service is bad or the food is not the top I usually keep it to myself. But restaurant Arroi deserves a written memory, so not a single person on the planet Earth is visiting it anymore. Me and my husband were spending the romantic weekend on lake Bled and we were highly recommended to go there for a dinner. Our host even recommended to book a table there, which we did, as it was a special weekend with a chef from Croatia serving set menu. Ok, so here we are 7 PM, right on time, the manager takes us to the table. 15 minutes later only the waiter shows up to poor us some Prosecco and disappears again. After asking him for the menu (20 minutes passed), he admits, but you don’t speak Slovenian… ok, brother, when I’m hungry I can speak whatever you want. Half an hour later we finally have the menu and choose the long awaited set. It is also worth mentioning that the waiter didn’t even offer us water. Oooook. After 1 hour of waiting the waiter brings us the first dish which is like 1,5 spoons of size. Fine, it still tastes good, but like we are already dying of hunger. I can’t stand my husbands sad face and go to talk to the manager, asking him to bring us water, some wine and maybe food finally? So 2 hours later we have a bottle of water on the table and 2 glasses of wine. And half an hour later we still have no sign of the main dish… so my husband goes to talk to the owner of the place and this rude arrogant piece of human being tells us to leave, because we do not respect their program and asks us to leave. Really? 2,5 hours of waiting without water and normal service and we didn’t even get the main course? Man please, stop doing sth you have no idea about, go to a decent restaurant to see how dinners of 6 courses are served in 2 hours and learn some manners. This is ridiculous. And by the way the pizza place just around the corner has tasty pizza and great service, which takes only 10 minutes for have your dish ready. So remember never in your life go to arroi, unless you won’t to ruin...

Three of us ordered one main each and one drink. They got every single item wrong. One of the drinks they have on the menu is not available anymore, so they just made it out of two other drinks by mixing them and charged double (full price for each of the two drinks when they mixed beer and sprite to make a "radler") without informing us that they don't have it or asking if it is ok to make this mixture. They messed up all tree mains, two had allergens that we specifically asked to be without, and one was extra spicy with chilly flakes even though we specifically asked for it to not be spicy (twice). Water from the tap on the menu is 50c, we got tap water but got charged 2.8€ for "bottled water". Last but not least the food is very expensive, you pay an extra 4€ for service (i.e., pogrinjek), which was arguably the worst service I have ever witnessed in my life, and the food is average at best. They did swap each of the three mains for what we actually ordered, but as for the radler mixture, we ended up paying double for something we did not even order and all we got was a "yes, we should remove that from the menu" with no...

Overrated restaurant… tourist trap…

The restaurant looks nice from the outside but the food is mediocre. The pad thai we ordered was quite expensive and not worth the price! I have had better pad thai than the one at this restaurant.

When you pay your bill, there is an added chairge of €1,50 per person on the bill for table service. When we asked our waiter for clarification about this €1,50 per person, he said it is for the “nice napkins” and table service. If you’re gonna charge customers for using the nice cotton napkins, just don’t bother providing cotton napkins at all... We actually don’t care, I’d rather have paper napkins if it means I don’t have to pay for simply using a napkin! It is not my choice that the napkins are made of cotton cloth!

Another thing that was unpleasant about this restaurant is that the music is too loud. Sometimes I couldn’t understand my partner who was sitting across me at the same table.

The only thing I liked at this restaurant was the lychee drink but you can get a lychee drink...
