Penzion Kaps — Hotel in Bled

We visited here back in 2015 and loved it so much had to come back.  We weren't disappointed. A perfect stay again. Peter is welcoming and helpful and offers a great breakfast. The rooms are super clean. We had room 12 which had everything we needed.  Comfortable bed, excellent powerful shower, fridge,  kettle and balcony. The location is great, easy to reach the Lake, bus station and plenty of restaurants. Set amongst chalet style buildings and in a very quiet area. Bled area is beautiful and we loved our walk to Vintgar Gorge, (it's much busier than it was 7 years ago but still a must visit). A stroll round the lake and to the viewpoints of Ojstrica, Klopca Ljubezni - Velika Osojnica and Mala Osojnica. They're tough on the legs but the views are worth it. Take plenty of water. Our only disappointment was having to cut what was meant to be a 4 night stay to 3 due to Easyjet cancelling our flight. :( Again if we come back to Bled we'd stay here again in a heartbeat. We had a great stay at Penzion Kaps! The room and property are immaculate and extremely clean. Everything in the room appeared to be recently renovated or new including the beautiful would desk and cabinets to the nice bathroom. We stayed in room 14 which is the family room with walkout terrace. We loved having access to the outdoor space and being able to come and go from our own entrance.

The breakfast was great! Tons of options. They actually provide you your own set of tongs to use at the breakfast buffet which we think is the best way we’ve seen the breakfast buffet done during the pandemic. No need to wait for someone to serve you and no need to use those plastic gloves that just end up in the trash. Getting your own tongs is definitely a best practice that I hope matriculates to every hotel around the world, pandemic or not!

Location is excellent at about a 5 minute walk to central Bled.

An oasis of quiet, comfortable calm just five minutes walk from the edge of the beautiful, bustling Lake Bled. So quiet and dark at night, it was hard to believe we were so close to Bled. ||This is a super convenient location and a beautifully appointed, pension style hotel with all the charm of an Austria Mountain Hotel, the pine, the cleanliness, the comfortable beds and our room was super clean.||Breakfast was great. From 7-10 every day, most days we'd arrive for breakfast at around 9 and had a full spread available to us, served by Peter and the team.||In typical Slovenian fashion the team running the hotel were polite and kept to themselves unless you wanted something, or needed advice or help when they would be only too pleased to help.||A brilliant base from which to explore Bled and the surrounding areas, close enough to enable a short siesta in the afternoon before going out to dinner. ||Hvala...
