The best dining experience since our Croatia/Slovenia trip 10 days ago. I’m so glad that I did my research and made a reservation at this homey restaurant, located only five minutes of walk away from Hotel Park but tucked in at the back of a gravel path not easily seen from the main street. Our server was a tall gentleman who appeared to be in his 60s, and was courteous, friendly, with just the right touch of humor. His personalized service made the whole dining experience felt like a Mozart serenade. Immediately after sitting down, we were given a pre-appetizer snack made of beef liver pate on top of small flaky pastry rolls, followed by a generous amount of various bread that we dipped in the recommended pumpkin seed oil, which tasted amazing. The beef tartar came with a raw egg yolk and shredded butter, and when spread on top of a thin slice of crispy toasted bread, created a wonderful harmony of flavors and texture. The porcini cappuccino soup has a thickened texture without added cream, allowing the flavor of mushroom to fully come through. For main course, we ordered salad with aged beef, lamb shank, stuffed chicken breast, and slowly cooked pork belly, each perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. The portion was generous but not overwhelming. This is the type of food that is unpretentious, prepared with solid ingredients, and with experienced understanding of the property of the main material. I told our server that the restaurant deserves a Michelin star, and I hope one day they do get one.

This is the best restaurant in Bled! As someone who is really sensitive and critical about customer service, the people in this place exceeded my expectations. We came here twice in 3 days, both times without reservations, but the nice lady at the reception still welcomed us with a smile and didn't make us feel unwanted, even though the place was packed. They searched for a table and politely let us know that we can only have it for a certain amount of time. This happened the second time we came without a reservation. Everyone greeted us with smiles, made us feel welcome, and were genuinely happy to see us again. The servers were amazing as well. The elegant lady with the curly hair was very professional and gave us amazing wine pairing choices for our food. The sweet blonde lady that brought our food was really polite as well. The tall young lady who brought our check was really funny and nice. The gentleman with the earring was also really kind and polite and recommended good wine pairings as well. The food was well prepared and was served quite quickly as well. I had the shrimp risotto, honey glazed salmon, the mango cheesecake, and the chocolate lava cake. All of them were amazing. Even my partner, who had a salad with aged beef, said that it was the best salad he ever had! Overall, this place gave us a taste of amazing Slovenian hospitality, and we'll definitely come back again! (Hopefully, next time with a reservation 😄)

What a great experience!!! Such a cosy place where the atmosphere and the people working there makes you feel at home. The first day we visited the place for an early dinner, we were a party of six and tasted different dishes that were all great! Prices very reasonable for the place and the quality of food and service. We all fell in love with the place!!Value for money. The next day we visited the 300 years old cellar that is in the basement and with the help of Gogo, the owner, we had a wine tasting experience of the local vineyards.Gogo is an excellent host with a great knowledge of wines , he speaks english fluently and with his professionalism he provides high level of services always in a warm and welcoming environment that will make you feel at home. You definately have to go, I strongly recommend it!

An amazing restaurant and must try if you can go! We tried coming here for dinner but couldn't get a spot without a reservation. We decided to come back the next day for lunch and weren't disappointed. There's space for parking too. My husband got the dumplings with mushroom, the lamb shank, and seafood platter. They gave us free bread with a unique butter/jam. The dumplings aren't what you think, they look like rolls and were absolutely delicious with the mushroom cream sauce. The lamb shank fell off the bone. The seafood platter had a great variety of fish, mussels, octopus, shrimps, vegetables. We don't usually eat potatoes, but the potatoes had a great crisp and were delicious. Great flavors and fresh ingredients. The waiter/owner was so hospitable and friendly. A must try!!

I am only giving this 5 stars because the system won’t allow 6. This was truly a terrific dinner and would highly recommend to anyone staying in Bled and enjoys food. The atmosphere is charming and makes you feel like you are at a cellar door having a meal. The staff were great, very friendly the whole night, and provided us with great wine recommendations as we were unfamiliar with the Slovenian wines. And then the food… wow. Started with the beef tartare as an entree and it was delicious. For main we ordered the pork belly and the special on the night - the truffle pasta, both of which were spectacular, and very hearty portions. As I said, I would highly recommend the Old Cellar to anyone staying in Bled, and if I come back in future years I’ll be sure to return for dinner.

Came here for dinner. I had the vegetarian risotto and partner had the ribeye steak. Both were absolutely delicious. I asked the waiter which wine he could recommend and he gave us a delicious bottle of Slovenian wine. We also had a pudding which is very unlike us, but because the main was so good we had to try some more! I had the pistachio cheesecake which was more like a panna cotta I would say (no buttery biscuit base as us English would expect). However it was really tasty and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My partner had the chocolate lava cake. It was very rich and the highlight of this dessert was the raspberry ice cream which was tangy and fresh and complemented the dark chocolate very well. Overall fantastic experience.
