A Slovenian Steakhouse That Rivals the Best – Highly Recommend!
My wife and I, visiting from the southern United States, decided to try a Slovenian steakhouse during our time in Ljubljana. As avid steak lovers, we weren’t sure it could compare to what we’re used to back home—but we were happily proven wrong!
The restaurant’s location is fantastic, nestled along the scenic Ljubljanica River near the iconic Triple Bridge in the heart of the city. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable—professional, attentive, and welcoming. We opted for the Cowboy Steak (medium) and were pleasantly surprised to learn that the high-quality cut was sourced from Ireland.
When the steak arrived, it looked absolutely mouthwatering—and it tasted even better. Perfectly cooked, expertly seasoned, and so tender it practically melted in our mouths. The truffle-infused mashed potatoes were a delicious complement, adding a rich, earthy flavor.
The pricing was very fair for the quality, offering great value for what you get. What truly stood out, though, was the hospitality. The owner was incredibly friendly, ensuring we had a wonderful experience. He even gave us a fantastic recommendation for the best ice cream in town—a must-try for our kids!
If you’re a steak enthusiast, this place is a MUST VISIT in Ljubljana. Outstanding food, excellent service, and a prime location—what more could you ask for? WE’LL...
Read moreThis is the WORST place in Ljubljana. First of all, we came for the pizza we saw in the reviews. But guess what — there’s no pizza. The restaurant has changed the menu long ago and didn’t bother updating it on Google. The actual menu is small and totally uninspired.
We ordered the “Chef’s Salad” 😂 with tenderloin steak for €19. For that price, you’ll get a bowl of overripe, bitter, and partially ROTTEN greens, two tiny cherry tomatoes, a few greasy bits of overcooked meat, and a couple of parmesan slices. Honestly, this would be bad even for a roadside shack. For a place calling itself a restaurant — it’s disgraceful.
We could barely eat anything, even though we were starving. We showed the rotten leaves and congealed fat to the waitress, and all we got was a “sorry.” The salads were still on the bill, with a “15% discount” as compensation for the disgusting food. So we ended up paying €45 for ruined meals and ruined moods.
You can see everything in the photos. Just do yourself a favor and avoid this place...
Read moreWent there for a lunch with the family and was disappointed in most aspects.
One person was there to “greet” and then call the actual server for the table, it just resulted in an awkward experience. Servers were kind though forgetful to a fault; ordered wine that came at the end of the lunch, ordered bread which confused servers and instead of one brought two packs of bread (charging for them of course).
Food was underwhelming for a restaurant of this caliber. Shrimp salad was a fistful of spinach with a couple of shrimps and mango peppered around the plate, chicken salad was a heap of eggs and mayo, the fig and goat cheese salad was ok, though as with all the other dishes, thrown together by a mini tornado. Worth mentioning we waited a good 30 minutes for the dishes.
Atmosphere was fine and calm, occasionally pierced by screaming children, which of course is not the restaurant’s fault.
In short, it’s just another tourist trap restaurant that serves “Italian style” food to tourists at a...
