CHICKING ROSEBANK — Restaurant in Gauteng

I was there yesterday 16th June,ordered the 4 piece fried chicken combo, a tandoori burger and the whole grilled chicken with large fries.I was told my order will be ready in 15-18 minutes.I waited 25 minutes and still my order wasn't ready.When I asked about my order,I was told is is almost ready.Finally my order comes,first the burger,not spicy at all, just a small piece of crumbed chicken fillet placed in the center of hhe bun with a thick slice of tomato,alittle sauce n a piece of sliced cheese. Nothing tandoori about the burger and it was made very slap dash. Wasn't impressed at all. Next the 3 piece fried chicken of the 4 piece chicken combo,soo disappointing.The chicken was cold not even warm yet it just came out of the fryer as we were told.It was old fried chicken that was just refried and kept in the warmer for I don't know how long before it was served to us.When my husband complained,the waitress took the chicken back and bought the same fried chicken back in five minutes,nothing changed,still the same cold chicken. When he asked how she warmed it,she replied i did nothing,the manager asked me to bring it back.When the manager was called he made an excuse saying that they ran out of chicken and they just got fresh stock about 30 minutes hence the delay in order.He assured my husband the chicken was freshly fried when we could clearly see the colour of chicken is so dark that it was refried.He took the 3 piece of cold fried chicken and warmed it and brought it back.The manager said that the fourth piece of the chicken will come soon in 8 minutes.It took a whole 20 minutes before it came. My husband finished eat the remaining 3 pieces.Lastly the whole grilled chicken was so disappointing.Wasnt marinated well,did even taste nice,tasted very raw and had a bland taste.I asked for extra sauce in the chicken but was given chicken with little sauce only.This time chicking was really disappointing. I’ve been a regular customer of Chicking Rosebank for a while now, but sadly, the quality has been on a noticeable decline lately. The inconsistency in packaging is frustrating—it feels like a gamble each time I order. The picture I’ve attached is the only time recently that I truly enjoyed my order, but that seems to be the exception rather than the rule.

One of my biggest disappointments has been the peri-mayo sauce. What was once a delicious, flavorful sauce has now turned into a watery, bland version that barely resembles the original. It’s lost the kick and spice that made it special, and it’s clear that the quality has taken a significant hit.

To make matters worse, my latest experience left me even more frustrated. After being assured that my order would take 12 minutes, I ended up waiting over 22 minutes. When I finally got home, I discovered that my chips were missing from the bag. This is unacceptable, especially after such a long wait.

I used to look forward to ordering from Chicking Rosebank, but these recent issues have made me rethink that. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on restoring the quality and consistency that once made this place a...

Terrible experience. Waited 40 mins for food and shop wasn’t busy. Food arrived , chicken was grossly over cooked with no flavour whatsoever and oil bursting out of it. Burgers had tiny slither of some sort of tiny chicken and 2 thinly sliced pickles and more Mayo than anything. Chips old and stale and no seasoning also. Horrible service experience. We paid almost R400 for this terrible meal. No manager on duty. Staff had to no access to owners details. No tap to wash hands even though they serve finger food ! Absolutely pathetic. Will never go there again. To all our Muslim brothers and sisters please avoid this place at all cost as the patrons sitting next to my family and I were consuming alcohol openly ( brutal fruit ). Staff did allowed this. Staff have no regard for customer service at all. This is no reflection of any so called Dubai franchise !
