Chungmu Kalguksu — Restaurant in Seoul

We came for an early dinner and already there were several groups eating happily away. Everyone was eating Bossam, and even though we came for Kalguksu, we decided to try the Bossam. It was fantastic- we don’t eat pork often as our kids don’t like the smell, but this time the children ate so much we had to “add 1 line” - meaning order another row of Bossam. The shop owners are so warm and welcoming- they saw that we had children and went out of the way to give us extra bowls, scissors and also helped us to split our 2 portions of Kalguksu into 4 portions. This place is popular with the locals, by the time we left it was full and overflowing to their parking space outside. The warm hospitality of this restaurant was unforgettable. The boss (young lad) was very friendly and honest. He advised against us ordering 3 bowls of noodles and suggested we ordered two. He then kindly divided the two bowls into 3 portions for 3 of us. The noodles were piping hot and peppery. Very comforting meal for a cool weather. Bossam was tender and was not gamey at all....

A great local place to eat Korean style noodle, Kal-guk-soo. Kimchi could be very spicy for foreigners but it is a high-quality, typical Kal-gul-soo style kimchi so it's woth trying....
