I'm sorry but was so disappointed, came last year and food and vibes was good, this time we was left shocked and disappointed and hungry, it seems we was served the dregs of the day in my opinion, the waiter was talking too fast and we could not understand him properly, my wife (vegan) ordered the ital veg curry and I had Mommy special chicken curry ( if that's what you want to call it) so food came and wife was given the chicken slop and I the vegan veg curry( how can you get that wrong with only 2 people at the table) any way the food was bad, very bad, we felt embarrassed to complain as the chef was chatting with some young guy,on my meal the chicken was sparse and like shredded, 2 potatoes that just dissolved as soon as I put them in my mouth,my wife's veg curry was well......it look ed like it had come out of a tin,she said it tasted bad ( she said i can cook better at home) so let me tell you about the menu....why do you add extra €1 on the bill for items that are priced different on the menu? €3 for a can of coke!! €2 on the menu and the fries was an extra €1 as was the food charged extra, as I was walking away and working out the price I was overcharged €5 more, we will not be returning here again in a hurry, I have west Indian friends so I know all about carribean cooking and was LEFT very very...
Read moreNothing Caribbean about this menu, I expected authentic Jamaican food. What we received was some oven backed food with what was probably Reggie Reggie sauce in a little bowl to dip your food in. They only had x3 things on the menu Jerk Chicken, Fish or Steak. And some sides dumpling/ Mac cheese coleslaw. I had the fish I expected authentic Fish Snapper/Escovitch etc cooked down on the Pitt or even pan fried I would even accept grilled, cooked down with onions, carrots, peppers etc…this was more like Lidls freezer section cooked in the oven, with a side off Reggie Reggie sauce in bowl at the side off my plate. I couldn’t even finish it, it was vile!
Rice and peas tasted like it was drowned in coriander and you could tell it wasn’t fresh tasted watery like it had just been defrosted.
The chicken and steak came the same way with the side off jerk sauce too. (Embarrassing to claim this is Jamaican) I was really disappointed, shocked that Big Narstie would put his name to such food.
The restaurant was clean and tired (probably because no one comes in).
Staff very friendly but food 0-10. Cost us €100...
Read moreFor the first time there. White wine Sangria, wonderful. Rum punch was great too. The music great like any Jamaica music. Nice tables and nice decorated area, makes you feel lively ! But then came the food. The food was ok, nothing to complain about it, except to me it has nothing to do with jamaican food. Firstly, there were no patties available at all, then the chiken was pink inside. Yes, jerk chiken pink inside. Now, I'm no jamaican man or jamaican chef by any means, but I have been to Jamaica and have eaten plenty jerk chicken. Don't get me wrong, im not expecting the same here, I am aware that this is Costa Adeje and not Runaway Bay, but I never had jerk chicken pink inside. The chips from frozen like almost everywhere, but at least a good portion. The garnish salad ? Almost i invisible. The jerk fish was, breaded cod with a jerk sauce. The food was good, jamaican? No.
