My husband and I came from Dubai for vacation and he arranged dinner for my birthday at Grill La Laja. We were impressed by every small detail. Starting with table set up, amazing dining atmosphere with an outstanding culinary experience.
The Extra-Angus Entrecot and Marinated Salmon are juicy and cooked just right, with a rich flavor. Starters like Ham croquettes and Canarian cheese platter are also very tasty. Every dish is seasoned well, giving a burst of flavor in every mouthful. And to end with desert, the Chocolate and hazelnut sphere was sooo delicious. the wine was recommended to us by Juan Jose, was an excellent choice.
What truly sets Grill La Laja apart is the exceptional service. Juan Jose and Diana (if I got her name correct) are not just staff members; they are the heart and soul of the dining experience. Their warm hospitality, attentive nature, and genuine care make dining here an absolute pleasure. Juan Jose and Diana go above and beyond to ensure you have an unforgettable experience. They also surprised us with complimentary champagne for my birthday which made it even...
Read moreHave just dined there. Brilliant in every way. If you are staying all inclusive at the Gran Hotel then the drinks that are included elsewhere are included here at no charge. And - the food is 30% reduced in price if you are staying all inclusive. This turns a good restaurant into an absolute bargain. Three courses of fine dining for 3 people for 90 Euros!
Excellent service. Proper cutlery. Fine linen. Lovely interior decoration that exudes understated luxury. Comfortable seats. A tasty amuse-bouche. Proper cappuccino. None of the rush and clatter of the hotel’s (very good) buffet restaurant. And - very flavourful and generously portioned food. Our waiter (Juan Jose) expertly deboned a whole fish at the table. And a phenomenal dessert.
I can’t recommend this place highly enough. It was quite quiet when we were there, which is a pity since it is - by some distance - the best dining experience I’ve had in Tenerife in the years I’ve...
Read moreRestaurant too light, no candles or romantic atmosphere, Ordered chauteabriand, served slightly seared, then we were asked if we wanted a hot plate, which we did, but this would normally come in any restaurant as standard, meat lovely but not hot n sizzly, plate got cold in 3 mins, had to ask for paper serviettes to mop blood off the plate as meat not rested. Had three sauces, all were gloopy packet sauces, none home made as confirmed by waiter. Chips, were frozen skin on, , again not home made fresh, This is a luxury 5 star experience which it is actually not, only grace was the lovely staff and the meat, nothing else. Will await reopening of hotel after refurb, La Laja needs to pick up its game. Sorry to say this but...
