We asked for a nice table with a view. We were placed directly next to the kitchen where you could hear the plates clanking, the bathroom with people walking in and out and directly above the sports bar with people shouting bloody murder. Ordered a medium rare stake. It arrived RAW, asked to put it back on the grill. They did but when it came back it looked still rare (picture is after it came back from the grill). We asked if maybe they have a different understanding of medium rare than we have in the Netherlands. They said it’s the same everywhere but that a waiter has to pay for the food if they mess up the order so they would always defend what they thought you ordered. The burger arrived without sauces even when the menu stated they would arrive with ketchup and musterd. The staff gave dirty looks and when we asked to have the leftovers packaged, they just put an empty box on the table for us to do it ourselves (without a plastic bag to carry it home). Also the restaurant is called La Brasserie: Steak house. You can find ‘The brasserie steak house’ and ‘La brasserie gourmetland’ on Google with different adresses and different reviews, even though it’s all the same restaurant. Makes me wonder why… The food wasn’t bad but I was honestly quite shocked by the whole experience. Also, quite problematic that this is the work environment: having to pay for steaks if you mess up because of a language barrier. STEAK IS EXPENSIVE.

Our group entered the restaurant and was split across 3 tables. The people that got seated just before us, gave up after roughly 80 minutes waiting, and left the restaurant. After about 90 minutes and watching other tables - that got seated long after our order was taken - receive meals, we asked the staff about our order. About 3 minutes later plates finally start to arrive at the tables. The pizzas were drowning in sauce, and had very little taste. They had clearly been standing in the kitchen for quite a while as the cheese was solid, and starting to lose elasticity. The chips with the burger were cold and soggy, and the bacon was far from crispy. We also ordered a dish with cheese filled pasta, but received tubular pasta instead, we did not correct this with the staff as we were starving by this point. Much like the other dishes the pasta turned out to be a big disappointment, as it was absolutely tasteless. This restaurant is a waste of your money, and we would only recommend coming here to eat if your taste buds have long since stopped working, and you have just finished eating anywhere else. By the time your meal arrives you might be feeling a bit hungry again.

The first day on Tenerife, it happened that we ate here, and we liked the food, the restaurant and the staff. After few days we stopped at the same place again and this time we would like to share our experience. You may think of ordering a pizza there, it’s okay — in fact, probably better than many other places, since it’s cooked the old-fashioned way in a charcoal oven. But honestly, I would recommend to look at entire menu, so you don't miss out the real gems of the menu. You may enjoy the character, more of that “retro flavor” - try the 07 – Beef Carpaccio, matured for 60 days and delicately seasoned with Maldon salt, olive oil, and parmesan flakes. Or the 13 – Calamares a la Romana, perfectly crisp and full of flavor. 57- Southern Chicken - Sautéed with garlic, mushrooms, and fungi sauce. This are just few along many other. Looking at them cooking, you can see they are proud of their work. And if you can, ask for Master Chef Orestis. He’s not just a chef, but a true craftsman — and, in his own way, a storyteller of ancient Greek mythology through food.

We came out as a family of 12 for what we hoped would be a lovely meal Firstly the positive, 4 of the steaks were well cooked and delicious. as were the ribs hence the 3 stars......however the service was absolutely shocking. We had to sit on 2 adjacent tables, which could have been put together, as they told us they were doing whillst we all waited outside. We felt as if they couldn't be bothered, but as we were all looking forward to a steak we agreed to these seating arrangements. We ordered our starters amd mains and asked for the 4 childrens meals to come out with the starters. This never happened, after many attempts of asking staff, we waited over an hour, if it wasn't for the fact it was 9.30pm we would have left , but we had 4 hungry children with us. We also had 3 steaks that turned up luke warm, items we ordered never came, and the mac and cheese was hot on top but cold in the middle. The service was very poor and we were left waiting for long periods of time between starters and our main course. When the bill came I complained about the childrens meals, the missong bread, mac and cheese and onion rings and poor service . Our bill was 477 euros and I said I wasnt prepared to pay the full amount. The waitress then went off and after 5 mins another waitress returned with the bill having had 20 euros taken off. There was no apology whatsoever , or any explanation!! We will not be returning and would recommend if you have young children this isn't the best place for them . We were all left very...

Staff need some serious training!

This place was very close to our holiday apartment, a pizza, salad and a beer were very nice on our first night. We saw the gorgeous looking steaks in the display cabinet and the charcoal griddle for cooking and decided to eat there again.

On the second visit we ordered the salad as a shared starter, sirloin steak and cheeseburger for our mains. The salad arrived almost immediately, was wilted and obviously pre-prepared. No sooner had we finished, the mains arrived; my sirloin was ordered med/rare but was cooked blue and sent back. It came back cooked ok but the vegetables and even the chips were not nice.

BUT, the waiting staff seem to treat their workplace as a place to talk to their friends who walk past, argue amongst themselves and pounce on new customers while ignoring customers who have ordered. With only around 20 covers in the restaurant, a group of 4 diners sat down near us and were presented with menus but then forgotten about, they walked out! The speed of the food arriving made me feel I was in a fast food restaurant. And finally when we wanted to pay, the bill was brought and we watched for around 10 minutes whilst the familiar waiting staff pantomime played out. We eventually managed to attract attention, paid with no tip and left. The middle aged waiter reminded me of Basil Fawlty in the way he dealt with us and other diners; we seemed an inconvenience!

Pizza is good, steaks and burgers look good but aren’t amazing, staff need a good kick...
