Cafetería Plaza — Restaurant in Arona

One of our drinks arrived with no ice having requested ice with the order. I handed the glass over to our sever and asked her to kindly add some ice. She came back with a glass of ice cubes but NO drink! I called over the Manageress - Nadia - whom we had got to know having visited 5 times over the last week. She spoke to the server who replied to her in Spanish. She then turned to me and asked me if I was saying that the server was telling lies. I was totally shocked - I explained to her again what had happened. My wife and our friends also voiced their agreement that this was a genuine request - we were not trying to get a FREE drink. Eventually the manageress went to the bar and came with my drink & ice stating that she would have to pay for this personally. I told her I did not expect anyone to pay for our drinks personally. What shocked me and my friends was the way I was made to feel like a cheat or a thief. We had been loyal customers for many evenings and enjoyed listening to Trevor Martin each night. Serious Complaint: Disturbing Staff Behavior and Inedible Food

The food was genuinely awful cold, like it had been sitting around for hours before it reached the table. One of us ordered a breakfast that was not only missing items but also came with uncooked mushrooms and beans. It didn’t taste fresh or healthy in any way. We weren’t even asking for much, just expected the food to be warm and at least properly cooked, like having the mushrooms grilled instead of dumped from a can.

When we tried to explain the issues to the so-called manager, he snatched the food right out of our hands and told us to leave. He became aggressive, shouting and swearing at us on the spot. The situation escalated to the point where we were being yelled at in front of other customers and then literally chased down the street still being shouted at, sworn at, and even flipped off while he was calling the police on me for filming his disgusting behaviour.

I’m going to take this further and report the incident to corporate, because behavior like this should not be tolerated or ignored.

We were waiting 30 minutes to get served when there was 7 tables in the restaurant where staff were doing everything but serving people. Short haired older woman with glasses who served us was nothing short of rude. With people waiting to order she choose to clean tables in a basically empty restaurant than getting orders into the kitchen. At the 20 minute mark of not getting served my partner went to the counter to ask where do we order and in a snappy manner another waitress told her "Go to the table". Short haired waitress came back 10 minutes just before we were about to call it quits and go somewhere else. Waitress seemed like she was half paying attention while taking the order and surprise, she was because she got the order wrong too. Asked for drinks during the meal again and it was acknowledged but never came back with the drinks. I get people are human but that has to be one of the worst displays of service I have ever witnessed.
