This is a large bar situated in the centre of a shopping/restaurant complex opposite the Hard Rock Café/Mare Nostrum resort area – visited several times and it was always pretty quiet in the day as it clearly does most of its business in the evening.

Good range of tables on the balcony and inside and beer is reasonably priced at around five Euro for a pint of Dorada – you can sit and watch the people come and go from the Hard Rock Café and it’s also a good place to come for pre-dinner drinks if you’re eating at the excellent Thai Botanico or one of the other nearby restaurants.

The staff are a bit indifferent – although I don’t mind that generally, as I’m not looking for conversation.

I did arrive a little earlier one day and, on ordering, was told they were ‘clearly not open’ – apparently the shutter being down by perhaps 6 inches made this obvious… - from looking online though this happens all the time and the brusque response of the man behind the bar is somewhat of a local legend. Oh well… 😃 Maybe keep the shutter slightly further down if you want to make it more obvious. Anyway, didn’t stop us coming back a few more times that week.

I couldn’t work out if they did food or not – I think not though as it didn’t really seem like it did and was surrounded by...

Went a couple of years ago and the service wasn't great but drinks were good. Didn't review at the time. Was in there today - 17/10/24 - and was firstly served at the bar. The woman who was served before me ordered a southern comfort and a couple of soft drinks and the waiter forgot about the southern comfort. When she asked him about it he seemed like he thought he'd done it, when infact he'd just given her a glass with ice. I'm not going to say he was drunk as I have no proof, but it seemed like he was. This was at 5pm-ish. We got our drinks, which, granted, were nice. I then went for a second one, and got told it's table service. The waiter who first served me then said something with a bit of an attitude in Spanish, even though he knew from previous engagement that I don't speak Spanish. The girl then looked really awkward and just repeated about table service. I went and sat down and waited but no waiter came to take our orders. The bar was moderately busy but not packed. In the end I stood up and told the waitress behind the bar the service was too poor. She just looked awkwardly and we left. Wouldn't bother going when there's so many other places to drink around there. It seems it's all about the location and not about...

Literally only giving two because I liked a couple of the cocktails. However, if you are to find something in your drink that is not supposed to be there then don't bother complaining. You will be called a liar. My boyfriend and I were there only last week and the first night there we thought we would try it out. After a couple of nice but very expensive (may as well go to hard rock) cocktails we decided that we would go back a couple of days later. We ordered the blue sangria. It was nice, however, I saw something white floating in the jug took it out and it was a small white piece of plastic. It was fairly sharp so when we found 4, one of which in my boyfriends glass we decided to tell them. Manager came over, already angry and straight up called us liars. We may be young and they have probably had people try and get free drinks that way before but we were just making them aware that it was there. We didn't expect a free drink or even a fresh one, we were just notifying them. Very very rude. Wouldn't go back again. In hard rock the cocktails are nicer, more alcohol and better entertainment. Literally straight across the road for 15 cents extra. 5 star...

On a scorching hot day in Playa del Carmen we decided to eat at Harry's mainly for the air conditioning. Boy were we glad we did though as the food, drinks and service were next level! A gorgeous space with fab decor. We shared a selection of appetisers including a delicious beef tartare and jamon iberico hand carved at the table which was melt in the mouth tender. Mains were equally as delicious as we enjoyed perfectly cooked lobster tail risotto and rack of lamb paired with a chilled bottle of Albarino - bliss. The complimentary candy floss was a cute touch and the cocktail selection was also great. It was on the pricey side, overall definitely worth the splurge for a special meal in cool surroundings.

We went around 1.30pm, the bar was very quiet and only a handful of people were present. Just the one staff member was present, a male, not very welcoming with one word answers. Yes it was hot, yes you looked busy, but manners and politeness costs nothing, but cost you repeated service! We would of stayed if we were made welcome, but decided to go to the Hardrock Cafe over the road, go there and see what the staff do to make their customers day! You are in the hospitality business and in a prime location, I'm sure you need us more than we need you! Shame really as the surroundings were amazing... hopefully you'll learn and move forward...
