Baldomero — Restaurant in Barcelona

we booked a table 3 days in advance. we arrived one minute prior our booking being the first ones in the whole store and they had us sited right next to the entrance while the whole place was empty. Btw you might think this is not too bad, but well you will understand if you see the place. Especially on a cold winter day. See the pics. then a couple came through and they placed them in the dinning area! And then another one. The place was still empty and when we asked again if we could go further in, the reply was that they were fully booked! Well we booked also well in advance! the buffet was also quite empty (see the pic), so we finished our coffees and we left. There are so many nice cafes around to enjoy nice food and much cheaper for a buffet of 35e which was half empty! service also average we were the first to order coffee, but others were served before us. They were not...

Please don’t ever come here! THIS PLACE IS AMAZING, you’ll hate it. First of all, when you read the menu, you think the food is normal, however, when the generous portions arrive you feel like you’re tasting these “normal” dishes for the first time! Like they hadn’t been done right before, like other chefs you tried used all ingredients but flavor. The place leans vegetarian but not in an annoying way, in a delicious way. There is not enough space on the Internet to talk about the amazing desserts in the way they deserve, just wow. The staff is super lovely and attentive, which makes the whole experience even worse. You must never come here as I want no one to discover this place and make out overcrowded. It’s simply fantastic. And they also gave me a birthday cake for my birthday,...

Rather obnoxious service

Ever find yourself somewhere in which you get the impression that you are not welcome?

From start to finish, a rather jarring and uncomfortable experience marked by what I took to be a condescending social treatment or a fundamental misunderstanding of service. They stopped us at the door to avoid table service, asked to be paid upon ordering (due to laziness), mistook the order and protested that it was not their fault, asked if we wanted sugar so we had to wait for that, too.... And on top of it all, unjustified, high prices.

And the above was just for tea and coffee - glad we didn't stay for food!

There are many superior cafés in the neighborhood - I recommend the café in the La Central bookstore...
