Went here yesterday and ordered the non-veg Thali. The service was great and the atmosphere is really nice as well. The Thali contained salad, daal, chicken curry, Tikka, naan and rice. I want to start by saying that the daal was AMAZING. It was the perfect amount of spicy and tasteful. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Tikka piece was a disappointment. I actually felt a bit scammed because what they show in the picture and what they offer is very different. It was one piece of Tikka that had been cut in half. It was extremely dry and I could tell it was leftovers from the night before or something. The chicken curry was ok taste wise however it felt like most of the flavor came from chicken powder/chicken cube. And while the curry wasn't stale, it was very clear that it wasn't freshly made. It again felt like they had reheated food from last night and even that in the microwave not the stove. The chicken had this specific taste that only reheated chicken has. This was disappointing. The naan was lovely and so was the gulab jamun. The salad was also very fresh. For 14.5 euros I found it quite filling but was left very disappointed by the Tikka piece and curry. My recommendation would be to not order the Thali, especially if you are one person because I think the quantities are smaller so they don't feel like it's worth making fresh portions and instead serve reheated food. I was sat right next to the kitchen and could hear the microwave being used over...
Read moreTraveling in Spain for the last 8-10 days and was looking for some good Indian food to change the weary taste buds. Happened to find Bombay Spicy by sheer luck and maybe divine intervention. Looks like a hole in the wall but the inside is much larger and has a second floor too. The food is just incredible and I will give it 10/10 and I don’t even live in Spain. The Onion Pakoras, the Chicken tikka, the 4 accompaniments of Achar, Raita etc was just top of the world and my wife was just raving about it. With a beautiful red wine then came the Bhindi Masala and the Tarka Daal, with fluffy garlic naan and Tandoori Roti. The owner Rinki or Surjeet is a 20 year resident of Barca and is from ludhiana and he is such a genuine and friendly guy. We ended with yummy warm gulab jamun and Mango Kulfi. I had to write this detail review because I think this guy and his restaurant needs to be known the Indians tired after ten days of constant attack of Pallella and Ibericam stuff. If you are in Barca and in La Catalunya and La Rambla, please go to Bombay spicy; you won’t regret my friends. Thanks Rinki for a...
Read moreWe visited this Indian restaurant in Barcelona, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The restaurant is located on a street that’s not easily visible from the main road, which made it a bit hard to find.
To be honest, the food was terrible. It didn’t taste like authentic Indian food at all — more like the kind of food you’d get at a very cheap or poorly managed restaurant. It completely lacked the rich flavors you’d expect from Indian cuisine.
On top of that, the person taking our order was extremely rude and had a bad attitude, which made the experience even worse. Poor service and bad food — definitely not a combination you’d want when dining out.
Overall, it was a bad experience. The food was disappointing, the service was terrible, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for real Indian food...
