English: The worst place I've ever eaten in my life. Dirty to close and greasy everywhere. The waiters are sometimes too pushy and don't let you think or choose. The pasta is pre-cooked and not even made with semolina flour. It is cooked first and removed from cooking beforehand and then dirtied with seed oil to prevent it from sticking....when someone asks for a first course, they take some of it cold and sautÊ it in the pan, adding the chosen seasoning. The pasta with garlic and oil is obscene, you can't taste the garlic and they use seed oil NOT extra virgin olive oil. The pasta carbonara, on the other hand, is completed by adding a very liquid egg sauce which seems diluted with water and without the coagulation process of the egg so it seems like eating the raw egg..... finally the pecorino cheese isn't even there. parmesan,......pepper is not added and they add bacon instead of bacon. A terrible carbonara that cannot be called 'Carbonara'. Salads are also to be avoided, the cold pasta suffers from the same problems mentioned above and the quality of the ingredients is on par with that of a discount market. The vegetable salad was almost acceptable but the condiments are disgraceful.... here too they gave me seed oil (no comment). There is no accompanying bread so they hope I buy them an extra focaccia for a fee. The condiments are listed at choice and on the leaflet/menu no price is associated with each one but if you choose more than one they make you pay an additional price for each additional one.... the problem is that for any additional ingredient on the leaflet there is a price. .. but NOT for the sauces. They are thieves and the food is of terrible quality, they should close them down. Finally, the price is expensive, the environment is noisy and dirty and the service is poor and done by people without qualifications and motivation talk about it. Save yourselves, run away, the street is full of good places. Italiano: Il peggior locale dove abbia mai mangiato in vita mia.
Read moreYesterday we had dinner here and were extremely excited! We had pasta cravings all day and the place looked to be utterly promising, both from the reviews and the photos. Arriving just before Spanish dinner time, the place was not too crowded (so no excuses that kitchen had to hurry!). The two of us ordered both pasta with burrata as well as foccacia. Food came pretty quickly (approx 5 minutes after ordering) which should already have been a sign of concern. Now the horror begins. The pasta was extremely undercooked and glued together!! My esposa was supposed to have Aglio&Olio but the ravioli were covered with water. No taste. Burrata was rock solid, pure luck that none of use lost a teeth!! Olives were a shame since they had no taste too. Never had such a bad olive in my life and I am not even Italian!! I am a BIG olive fan, so I know what I am talking about !!!Cannot understand how one can mess up a such a simple dish as pasta so hard. If you want to eat pasta in barcelona go somewhere else this is definetely not the place. Most positive reviews must either be bought or come from drunkards that swollow everything as long as it is digestible. My beloved Esposa is now at home, sick and not able to eat for...
Read moreTrying to find a place for a reasonably dinner before 9 in the evning in Barcelona can be a pain. But Pasta Market is one place where we had a good dinner with a reasonable price. Yes it's Italian food, but if you're in Barcelona, my guess is that you've already had some great Spanish or Catalan food. If you're along La Rambla and want something to eat (before 9 at night) this is a good place to get some food. Our waitress was friendly and spoke about 5 languages. Please wait to be seated as some people who were already shown a table maybe at the counter to pay for their order. You'll be given a piece of paper with the choices offered at the restaurant. Once you're doine filling it out, take it to the counter to pay and they can get your order started. You'll be given a nunber to place on your table where the wait person will bring you your dish once it's ready. The portion was perfect for me, not too much and not too little--plus I had a big glass of sangria to celebrate my last night in Spain. I ordered the gnocchi with some tomato sauce. It was...
