What's your favorite type of dumpling 🥟❓ Mine is xiao long bao... the soup version. Here, in BCN, xiao long bao doesn't always refer to soup dumplings. So if you speak Chinese 🇨🇳, and you're familiar with Chinese dumplings, please let me know if xiao long baos must be filled with soup or if they're just “little dumplings in a basket” (the definition according to Din Tai Fung), no matter if they're filled with soup or not. 🙏 I love a dumpling meal but, until not too long ago, finding an affordable yet more or less artisanal dumpling place in BCN was kinda tough. Fortunately, things have changed and there are now numerous places focused on dumplings or, in a broader manner, on dim sum. 🥳 A few weeks ago I took some friends to Happy bao. The place is not fancy, the service was disastrous but the food was surprisingly good, given the prices (we paid €20 each for a lot of food and a few drinks). 😃 So I mentioned I wanted a dumpling meal... but my friends didn't... apparently they have this idea that dumplings wouldn't be enough. So we all ordered a main. The choice was tough because the menu is huge (it's actually hard to tell what their specialty is) but I picked a meatball soup. It was weird, it was sour, the texture of the meatballs was strange, but I enjoyed it! 😅 I would have enjoyed it more if the waitress (nice but really unprofessional) hadn't brought all the dishes together despite my explicitly ordering the dumplings as starters and the rest as main dishes. 🤦 I know that Chineses don't have this concept of first and main courses but the plates didn't even fit on the table! 😓 Not to mention that we ended up eating things cold ❄️. And the worst part was that they only brought the chopsticks 🥢 and spoons once all the dishes were on the table. 😤 Now I know, and if / when I go back to Happy Bao (which may happen given the good quality / quantity / price ratio 👍), I'll make sure I order things separately.😉

Read moreI visited Happy Bao and ordered some food while waiting for my son in the play area. When he joined me, I ordered a beef rice dish to take away. When we opened the box, I noticed there was no beef at all.
I mentioned this to the waitress, but she was indifferent and not friendly. Instead of offering any solution, she simply told me that since the dish was for takeaway, we shouldn’t be eating it inside. Then she walked away, saying it wasn’t right to eat here something that was packed to go.
Very disappointing experience — both because of the missing ingredient and the unprofessional...
Read more虎皮鸡爪, 很软, 入口即化, 有带一点辣味, 带点酱汁, 吃多了会咸 。
柠檬手撕鸡, 很爽口, 有柠檬片, 洋葱, 芝麻, 香菜和花生 (不吃香菜的 和 花生过敏的记得说一声哦)。
半个烤鸭, 带几片面皮, 鸭肉紧实, 鸭皮是软的, 带一碟 黄瓜+葱丝+酱, 酱有点咸。
炸豆腐, 切成大长条的豆腐, 带了些酱汁, 蒜末和 辣椒 (疑似), 好吃, 里面很嫩。
鱼丸汤, 鱼丸软软的, 里面有生姜, 汤里有葱花和白胡椒粉, 没什么特别的。
何家拌面, 很好吃, 带摊的很薄很薄的鸡蛋饼, 技术好好, 有肉沫, 豆芽, 胡萝卜丝, 洋葱丝(?), 面条较细, 粗细不同, 可能是手工面? 面条口感很好。
松子鱼, 一整条鲈鱼, 身子到尾巴全部炸开, 鱼肉外焦里嫩, 带绿豆, 玉米, 和花生碎 (花生过敏的朋友们记得说一声哦), 糖醋汁调的很好, 不会很甜, 但是沾多了会腻, 可以适当吃口别的, 或者喝口饮料。
这最后一道松子鱼上菜慢了点, 不过毕竟工序复杂, 再加上店里还有两桌客人, 不是大问题, 服务很好, 上菜快, 空盘会及时收走, 装修风格简洁, 干净, 三人吃七道有点多了, 打包了一道菜。

Pollo desmenuzado al limón, muy buenos, te abren el apetito, lleba sesamo, perejil, rodajas de limon, y cacahuetes (Avisen al camarero si es alergico al cacahuete).
Pato Pekín, es medio pato, con unas tortitas, pepino, cebollino y salsa, la salsa es un poco salado, hay que poner poca.
Tofu rebozado, son tiras de tofu gruesas, fritos, con un poco de salsa, tambien hay ajo picado y sospecho que hay algun tipo de guindilla, por que me pica un poco.
Sopa de albóndigas de pescado, una sopa simple, con cortes pequeños de cebolleta, las albondigas lleban jengibre picada.
Tallarines con salsa y carne, esta muy bueno, lo recomiendo, tiene brotes de soja, zanahoria, una tortilla de huevo bien fina y carne picada.
Lubina crujiente agridulce, una lubina de tamaño mediana, abierto por la mitat, frito de cabeza a la cola, el cuerpo cortado en tiras, pero estan unidas, crujientes por fuera y tierno por dentro, con una salsa agridulce muy buena, no es muy dulce, lleba guisantes, maiz y cacahuetes (Avisen al camarero si es alergico al cacahuete).
