I’m deeply disappointed by a recent experience at this place, which has unfortunately changed my opinion about it. I was standing outside the bar, having a completely normal conversation with a friend, when a member of the security staff approached us and suddenly told us we were no longer allowed to enter because we were “too loud.”
There had been no prior warning or request to lower our voices, and we were simply talking at a normal volume—nothing more. The security staff member was condescending and dismissive, claiming that neighbors had complained and that he had full authority over who gets in. The way he spoke to us was degrading and unnecessarily hostile, especially considering we had done absolutely nothing to deserve such treatment.
I genuinely used to enjoy this place, but employing someone who abuses their position and treats guests with such disrespect is unacceptable. This experience was not only disappointing but also humiliating, and I truly hope the management takes this kind of...
Read moreThe treatment we received at this place was an absolute shocker. We were going for a couple of drinks and arrived to the bar at 20:00 on a Wednesday. After asking for a table , the doorman ( with an imminent bad mood) looked at us (group of 3 girls and 2 guys) and said that there were no tables available. This didn´t seam reasonable at all. 10 min later 3 guys from the friend group arrived and we asked them to request an identical table. SHOCKINLGLY they got it immediately. So we ended up entering the place , which obviously had LOTS of free tables. I cannot find a reason for this treatment , but it is absurd. One starts to imagine that is has to do with some sort of discrimination. Never going back. And the worst thing is that the service inside was alright and the price/product ratio is not that bad. But the experience was...
Read moreJust off Las Ramblas is this little piece of Barcelona. Full of rich, charming characters enjoying the chilled and young atmosphere. Popcorn given away with your drinks gives you the opportunity to lie back and watch the people chatting, loving and enjoying this hidden cave. Nothing too extravagant, no external views, just an enclosed olde world bar where young people can meet and relax away from the hustle and bustle of the City. There are L'Ovella Negra tourist gifts, underwear, t-shirts on sale to remember what will no doubt become a regular haunt once youve discovered this gem of a bar. Food is available but the popcorn suffices, just enough salt to entice you to have that last drink, until you have some more popcorn and stay another...
